Camden show tix don’t go on sale until May 19th. 😕
    Well, that sucks!!

I was all prepared to score tomorrow.
Yeah so was I. Just went on ticketmaster to see what time and all and that’s what it said (same with WMMR).
Ugh...yeah RATM.com says they don't go onsale until May 19th as well. Of course, it's the only venue that doesn't go onsale today. Good ole Camden.
Yeah, instead of going on Sale when all of the other shows did today, could hurt everyone's chance at scoring tickets since it will be the ONLY show on sale. Any idea why this happened?
I speculated a couple pages back that it must be a radius agreement with Firefly festival since the Camden tix go on sale exactly a month before Firefly. Must be to ensure that Firefly tix sell.
    This weekend we rock Portland
  • I was talking to a security guy at a show.  He said shows like Rage are ‘pros’ in the pit and usually take care if themselves.  He preferred them to the bubble gum shows with vomiting and inexperienced floor people.

when I saw them in 2008 the floor was not a place this aging fellow wanted to be in.  But it was a fun side show!

Pit for Rage show will be not bad, small GA floor sections. If a festival with no barriers, then watch out. See woodstock 99 or big day out early 2000's. Those looked super dangerous

I can only speak for the two arena shows I viewed (Raleigh and DC) and they were full floor GA.

Sort of.   There does seem to be a strong correlation between pit size and rowdyness of the pit.   A whole venue being GA generally creates more chaos than just the floor.   A show where only part of the floor is the bit almost has no chaos.   I kind of thought rage shows might not have mosh pit in GA given the age of the average fan, but then a coworker was telling me 20 year olds still listen to rage, so maybe their will be some energetic youth.

Given that most of the bands I see now have a middle aged fan base, it doesn't seem to matter the size of the GA, no one moshes anymore :)

edit:  That's not entirely true.  There's always that one guy that wants to be moshing when no one else is moshing.   Sort of like how there's always the one guy moshing 20ft behind the pit, but won't actually go into the pit to mosh, cause he's scared :)

One of the best shows I've ever been to was RATM at Alpine, but it was also absolutely brutal. About a foot off the rail right in front of Tom. It rained an hour before the show started so the hill was a mudslide, security guard at the rail confirmed the show was severly oversold, and then of course Rage tore the place down.
I'll be taking a much more relaxed stance in the lawn this time, cant wait!

I am planning on being first 3 rows at Boston Calling. I am going to be pulverized aren't I...

I do not mind some rowdiness but I also want to jump around and enjoy the music not being in defence mode the whole show.

Yeah, you're not gonna wanna be 3 rows off the rail... it is gonna be rough, constant threat of getting landed on or kicked in the head, packed in like sardines. Unless I'm on the rail directly between Tom and Zach, that's just not worth it to me. This ain't gonna be your average 10c GA party.

Pearl Jam Berlin 2018 I was 3rd row and was packed in the whole show. No real threat from surfers or anything else for that matter just squished with occasional surges pushing forward. I can handle that to get close just not sure I like getting kicked in the head lol and I get this is a whole new level of craziness for Rage. I think I will just wait and see how the other shows are.

Good luck to you. I think with the sheer volume of shows will dilute the intensity. If they just did 1 football stadium in every city instead of 2 arenas it would be chaos. Arenas will be more manageable.
  • Rage was the absolute craziest pit I have ever seen. I saw them at Shoreline Amp in like 97 I believe. It was madness. But the energy that came off that stage was like no band I have ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot of bands. Rage was a whole other level. Maybe with age, the band and it’s fans have mellowed a little. But holy crap. I wish I was going to a show.

probably second for me.  i saw metallica in a huge field with about 40,000 people and there was a line of ambulances after the show.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Sounds like the assholes whom used to go to the hardcore shows to beat people up.

They used to get sucker punched for being jerks.

Ha! funny you talk about that energy. I was at the '97 U2 show in Eugene with Rage opening..... HOLY FUCK..  There were some older U2 fans that had this WTF look on there face while Rage was playing. The raw force of those four guys is magical.  Zack is such a great fucking front man.  I was in my mid twenty's at the time so I'm jumping up and down singing every line to every song while most were looking at me like I was crazy..  Great memories.. This tour will be the first time seeing Rage since then... cant wait
  • Go Ducks!!! That sounds like a weird but awesome show. Yea, that band is no joke. Still trying to score tickets to an Oakland show. Have fun at your show.
