Officially announced headlining Saturday May 23 at Boston Calling festival
Any idea when or if single day passes will happen?
Not as yet. Would think sometime in next couple weeks. They'll try and sell more 3 day passes right now (just bumped those up to $399 this morning from $339) with the bounce from the announcement.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Thats a pretty big jump. Wish I could have bought the $339 GA ticket but the prices of accommodations are crazy in Boston that weekend. Way too expensive of a trip. I am going to just do RATM. Whats your plans?

Just going to do Saturday, and probably just head in at night. Basically treat it like a Rage concert and skip all the afternoon stuff.

That won't be happening.  They sign contracts that they aren't allowed to do them in a couple hundred mile radius.

Tool played in Augusta, ME the night before their headlining Boston Calling set. Maybe it's a 150 mile radius or bands can negotiate or who knows.

Edit: It was actually Bangor, so maybe 200 is the number. They did Rochester 2 nights later.

Major announcement from Aftershock Festival tomorrow. Speculation is RATM might be the headliner for the Saturday between Metallica sets.

I am pot committed to go to Coachella essentially to see Rage, and the other fest I am doing is Aftershock. I guess it would be cool to see them twice in a year after never seeing them.

Other bands are more.  Every big healiner PJ does they haven't played another show in like 500 miles.

I'm not sure how big a thing Boston Calling is?

It's big. 40k per day. Headliners this year are Foos, Chili Peppers, and Rage. Last few years have included Tool, Eminem, Travis Scott, Jack White, Killers, Mumford, Chance.

40K is a decent size.  After going to ACl and seeing what kind of crowds they get is impressive so 40k is a stadium show.

Ugh.. after 2012 Music Midtown with PJ and FF, I swore I was done with festivals.  I hope they don't make me go.

So tying it back to additional Rage shows in the northeast, it seems feasible based on Boston Calling's history but who knows what they have planned

Saturday headliner is My Chemical Romance, for fuck's sake. That does not qualify as a "major" announcement.
