I heard they gave all the good tickets to Pluralone fans.

Based on what I heard, I think they gave both of them sidestage tickets.

@BE9456 and everyone else, because Mike has a connection to Josh - they played together a few times last year.

Gave them an honest listen. The singer was terrible. The music was more of a lay in a field drop lsd or eat mushrooms and stare at the stars vibe. It made me sleepy. Doesnt really set the energy for a PJ show. Not bad music but doesn't do much to get people hyped.
Way better to have canned music over the arena PA system and nothing happening on stage.

It's a way for them to help a buddy get some exposure.

Not sure of the real reason, but they are friends with the RHCP and this gives Josh an opportunity to showcase his solo stuff now that he’s out of the band. Since Jack and the RHCP helped out Pearl Jam, maybe they are just paying it forward.
I thought it was interesting that some of the licks on Dance of the Clairvoyance sound a lot like Josh's style and tone.

The Porch is officially insane! People are nuts totally nuts and to top it off there’s 16 fucking threads about one song ...
Hahaha Jose! You make me laugh out loud. Perfect summary of The Porch as of late.

The Pluralone album is great. 'Rat Bastards at Every Turn' is a great song. Plus I think the fact they are taking Josh on the road with them could be great for him after him leaving RHCP

Something we're all forgetting - Pluralone may be a brand new band, but it's the band of a fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.

I preferred the days without an opener (I'd rather sit and have a conversation to pass the time than watch a band I don't know/care about), but I don't think this'll make PJ's sets shorter. I'll just get there slightly later than I used to since I know PJ can't decide to come out at 7pm if there's an opener in that slot already.

And in 2000 Pearl Jam returned the favor.

I hope Josh plays eye opener
    Might be his best song
  • PJ has mentioned in interviews / fan club newsletters before that they pick their openers. Ed's solo shows are still in the 3 hr range, so I don't think we'll see shorter sets. In fact, I'm guessing and hoping we'll see the return of Ed doing 2 or 3 song pre-sets before the openers / joining the openers in their last song or 2 at some shows to make crowds more inclined to be there early.   Side note - I think it would make for a fun and fascinating newsletter article to go over which band member picked each opener they've had over the years, and what made them select that act.

I picked up their album since I'll be seeing them 3 times...sounds ok, maybe a little boring. I'll keep listening and see if it grows on me.
