In 2020 it has never been easier to live stream a show. Way easier than when this thread was started, at least. I think the easiest route would be partnering with Nugs for a full Couch tour and throwing a discount to the Ten Club. That would be too easy though, right?
I think many bigger bands underestimate how good Dead & Co. and Phish are doing from these live streams. Not only is it a win/win for band and fans, these streams are able to make shows many fans wouldn't be able to get to their own little events. I can't tell you how many people in the Dead community chip in for a show, get together drink or smoke a few and make an event out of an otherwise boring week night or weekend just because they were able to stream a show 1000 miles away. Not only that - I've been to stream watch parties at bars for Phish specificallyGreat timeWachovia Center, Philadelphia - 10/3/05

Nugs already does this for other bands and with Pearl Jams close affiliation with Nugs it seems like a no brainer!jimjam1982 said:This. Live webcasts on Nugs? Yes, please and thank you.

I vote no on this. The only people we should try to get even with...

Phish offers webcasts. I just had a watch party for one of their shows in the most recent NYE run at MSG. Had a big projector screen set up in my backyard, firepit going, speakers, etc. It was AWESOME! Would love to do this for Pearl Jam - can't go to every show, but would totally pay to watch it live. Phish's broadcast was impressive. I actually went to the show the next day, and didn't even notice any cameras, which made it even moreso.
Seems like a no brainer to me. Such an easy way to reach a broader audience of fans. Do it!0 -
See what im saying PJ? Lets do this!!!0

This takes a lot of infrastructure, Phish are pioneers of streaming hd shows. You don’t start doing this on a whim. The band should absolutely do it though if they are capable. The instant bootleg process is also where it’s at!0

Completely agree with this. Even just webcasting 1 or 2 shows out of an entire Tour Leg would be awesome! Especially the harder ticketed shows, such as MSG."So much it dont show"0

Bands usually have a camera crew with them to broadcast to the screens on the side of the stage. I know pre-2000, this was an anamoly and only the best of the best did this, but im pretty sure since 2006 maybe(?) PJ have been using a camera crew on tour with them. You take a camera crew, and you give them a production manager that has to choose the best shots, WHICH is already being done for the screens in house. It's not as hard these days as most are led to believeKN219077 said:This takes a lot of infrastructure, Phish are pioneers of streaming hd shows. You don’t start doing this on a whim.
