    It's flower rosin. Basically, take weed, wrap it in parchment paper, add some pressure (or a few thousand pounds if you have a press handy) and a bit of heat (well below combustion or activation temperature), and the THC crystals liquidize and ooze out. When it cools down, it's a thick goop. A small grain of rice worth at around 550 degrees fahrenheit in my nerd bong, and I'm happy.

    Anybody ever use a nectar collector? I used one for the first time this last week and was totally impressed. I also tried a digital one that is especially nice because you can kind of regulate the strength of the hit. They’re nice too because it’s really no fuss, you can just dip the tip in the jar of product, no handling.

    I've never heard of using a nectar collector.

    I've come to prefer the simplicity of flower, maybe laced with kief or hash.

    And edibles of course, for sleep.

    (The rosin instructions seem pretty simple; I may give that a try.)

    It’s all good, lol. My favorite is also flower with a topper. Rosin is really nice. It just seems more natural because you don’t use any sort of chemical process to extract, just heat and pressure. I’m under the impression that shatter and the others use butane ect.

    Yeah, you can use a dab rig or a vaporizer for it. The goal is the same - heat it to a temperature that activates the THC as much as possible while preserving the flavour and not combusting. Mine is the Puffco Peak, so it's all digital to choose temperature and to pre-heat it is a 20 second process.

    Youch! Yeah, not sure how this is sustainable. I got 1/4 ounce for $20 on Black Friday (tax included - our prices always include tax unlike IL apparently). My typical eighths are in the $20 - $25 range at retail shops, again tax included. On top of the $67 eighth they nail you with taxes based on % THC??? Wow. So almost $75 for 3.5g of flower. Even more than that for a .5g cart????  Apparently the politicos are trying to bolster the black market for some reason. Paying $300 for what should have been around $100 out the door is robbery. Hopefully once the thrill of legal weed sales dissipates they'll realize they aren't doing themselves any favors by making the taxes so onerous. I understand the novelty of legal weed, but how are those prices justified? Is the black market there also stupid expensive? Kooky.

    Yeah, only way I get to shops is if they do deals. A lot of times you can get buy one get one free on edibles or shatter etc. I find prices differ from shop to shop as well, so it helps to study Leafly, weedmaps ect.

    67 bucks for a half gram cart is crazy.  I couldn't believe how cheap Seattle was though.  Cheapest state I've been to thus far.

    The first time I went to Colorado after legalization,  I bought a100 mg candy bar.  I had no concept of relative strength so I ate more than half at the hotel.  I was literally comatose until the next afternoon.  Way..... way too much.

    I'd be interested to see what Michigan is charging.  I know Michigan lets you grow six plants.  I'm not sure what Illinois lets you do.
