If you were to come up with your all-time team from your favorite baseball team, who would they be?  It can be more than just the starting 9.

    2nd- Chase Utley
    SS- Jimmy Rollins
    3rd- Mike Schmidt
    OF- Richie Ashburn (little before my time but always liked him)
    OF- Shane Victorino
    OF- Von Hayes
    C-  (tie) Carlos Ruiz or Darren Daulton
    DH- Jim Thome (Yeah no DH in the NL but he did DH for them in interleague play)
    SP- Steve Carlton
    RP- Brad Lidge

    obviously the '08 World Series team had a big impact. Been a Phills fan since i was a kid though (late 70's/early 80's)

    Shortstop was the hardest, there are slim pickings on that position.  I almost went with Adalberto Mondesi just based on potential alone and will probably end up as the best SS in Royals history when it’s said and done.  It was hard leaving Johnny Damon off of this list too.  He was the best lead off hitter the Royals have ever had (sorry Willie Wilson) and played GG centerfield.  Beltran was just the best all-around baseball player the Royals have ever had in my opinion.

    So you remember the 1980 World Series?  That was probably the best Royals team of all time.  Steve Carlson was nails in clinching the championship for the Phils.

    wish I could have put Dave Parker on the list, and I almost used Russ Martin simply for the HR he hit off Cueto in the 2013 WC game. It’s hard to believe how few dominant SPs the pirates have had in over 130 years. I think they’ve won 2 Cy Young’s. 1992 Doug Drabek was probably the best we’ve ever had.

    rarely, I was six years old, I do remember the '80 KC team too though. I was also a Royals fan. I liked their uniforms growing up plus i also like George Brett

    I’d switch out Kruk for Howard and Hayes for Burrell. But otherwise, my list would be pretty much the same.

    I’d switch out Kruk for Howard and Hayes for Burrell. But otherwise, my list would be pretty much the same. 

    I was tempted to put Howard as my first baseman and move kruk to the outfield but decided against it. Liked howard a lot.

    I also wanted to put Jim Eisenreich in there somewhere but ran out of positions.

    If I had to manage a game and this was my lineup, they would destroy anything that they faced.

    I put Trout in there because he is the one modern day player whom will one day be mentioned among the others on my team.

    Considered then both but yes....that was the choice for me.  Some tough choices at a bunch of the positions.

    1B - Mark Grace (though I do love Rizzo)
    2B - Ryne Sandberg
    3B - Kris Bryant
    SS - Ernie Banks (never saw him play)
    OF - Jayson Heyward 
    OF - Andre Dawson
    OF - Ben Zobrist (right guy, perfect time)
    SP - Greg Maddux
    MR - Jesse Chavez (only spent about 10 minutes with the team, but he was fun to watch and likeable as hell).
    CL -  Mike Montgomery (only had 1 save)

    The Cubs don't have a particularly rich history of OF and RP's.

    Maddux as such an artist when it came to painting the edges of the strike zone.  I just thought in his prime, Pedro was the hardest to put the ball in play.  That includes Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, etc.
