    Yes, that book was killer.

    Just read this:

In the middle of this -- saw the trailer for the HBO series based on it (starting in Jan) and it looked badass, so I moved this up to the front of the line -- "Good King" thus far:

Just picked up this on recently.  I loves Pete's autobiography but 40 pages into this I'm feeling like it's just so-so, so far (cool cover though!):

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Flea’s new book! Loving it so far, so kooky! Never realised how insightful he is. 🤔

Just finished Ed Snowden's Permanent Record. -Very important book, I think everyone should read if you care anything at all about your privacy.

Reading now Stephen King's Institute and 1922.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I got them 2 years ago for Christmas and I've only just gooten around to reading them. Love them, just started the 2nd.

@Hobbes - The ocean at the end of the lane... Love Neil Gaiman so that's on my list! I haven't read the whole thread so I don't know if it's been mentioned, but give Neverwhere a try. It's one of my favorites! And he's finally writing a sequel that's supposed to come out this year.

Well, that was kind of a garbage book.  Large print (which I appreciate in my advancing age) and short...but so heavy handed.  I laughed at the writing in 20 different spots.  Really, pretty weak effort.  I really enjoyed some of his early stuff but this would be a very hard pass as far as a suggestion.  Go read Red Dragon or Silence of the Lambs.

Came across this very interesting book about the town of Woodstock called Small Town Talk by Barney Hoskyns.  The author gives a good account of the music scene that developed in the town both before and after that famous Woodstock Music Festival that did not happen in Woodstock (but did affect the town in some bog ways).  A good read that I'm about 1/2 way through.

Anti-Social: Online Extremists , Techno-Utopians , and the Hijacking of the American Conversation by Andrew Marantiz.

Did not think much more could be said about how the rise of social media has lead to the Alt-Right using it to spread false hoods and create chaos but this gentleman from The New Yorker does a really good job with this book. Highly recommend.
