Great show, great setlist. Was it just me or wasn't the ok ok tag on Daughter really Sonic Youth's Andrognous Mind and not Dead Moon's It's OK. Why does the Synergy site say it was Dead Moon? Anyone agree?

Well I put this out on this thread and the other LA 2 concert review thread, and still haven't heard anything from anyone. Come on Fans! Doesn't anyone remember the way Ed sang this during the beginning of the Daughter tag section. It wasn't the call and response It's OK Dead Moon style at all, I really think it was the A.M. Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? Anyone?

    Peace to all Jammers

  • I remember that. Everyone was singing along! The show was awesome though, although the people next to me were annoying..like, they had no vibe at all. Just standing there and clapping after every song. My uncle took me, and had to sit down, but I mean, he'd been working all day earlier and he's gettin' kinda' old, so I don't blame him. He enjoyed the show though. I enjoyed Sonic Youth too. But most of all the concert. I just had really far seats though, so I couldn't see too well. But I still had a good time. It was funny, cuz in the beginning before the show, I had two slices of bread in my pocket, and the guy was all squeezing around me to check me. And he felt the bread and there was this look on his face lmao. He probably thought I was trying to smuggle in weed haha. There seemed to be a lot of people there though.

When Ed was talking about 'X' and 'Must Not Think ad Thoughts'... I thought FOR SURE that John Doe would be coming out. This would have been great because I have gotten to know John through a mutual friend and I see him when he does his acoustic gigs around town... and John Doe is one of the most sincerly nice guys you'd ever meet. That's why I was kinda bummed when Tim Robbins came out... I was hoping more for a singer/musician... not an actor.

John was probably busy with his daughter's soccer team last night.

I fell you Cosmo, I thought the same thing, I was sure John Doe was coming out, I'm stoked that I have tix to see X in SF later this month, never had the privilege of seeing them live, my cousin said the show he saw a couple years ago was great.

  • Hey -

I took my 9 year old son to the show last night (his first PJ show) and I just want to say a big "Thank You" to all of the fans. After the show my son talked about 2 things.

The first was how great the music.

The second, which he talked about more than the music, was how nice all of the people at the show were to him. We sat in Log 9, row A and EVERYBODY around us talked to him and made him feel special. Thank you!

When we went to the bathroom he was greeted by people telling him they were excited to see him at the show and on both trips people in line told him to go in front of them. They didn't want him to miss any of his first Pearl Jam show - Thanks letting him go and being so cool to him! Also, thanks to the guy who used The Force with him on the paper towel machine (The Force is stong in both of you), it was pretty funny.

Then there was the guy who was parked next to us in the parking lot. As we walked up to the car we were welcomed with, "kid, I was sitting in the same section as you and you rock. It is so great that you are here and I am glad you came." This made Will feel really good so thank you also!

Personally, I as his dad also want to say thank you to everybody. We were told so many times how great it was that I brought Will to the show and how I must be a great dad. God knows that I try and I think so far I have done okay but it is always good to get encouragement!

See you next tour, off to Ebay to try and pick up a poster for the show that won't break the bank!

    Peace and lets save Tressels,

    B

Also, how cool was "Walking The Cow".
  • Both shows were frickin awesome!!!
I hope the San Francisco fans show up!!! I'll be there rockin' again!
Man...I didn't know Chris Cornell was there at the second show. Imagine, Ed calling up Chris and then....SOME Temple of the Dog!!!! OH my!!!!! Who here would have jumped higher, sang louder, pumped their fist stronger, who would have lost their fucking minds, how many ladies would have gotten moist, how many of us would have shaken our heads in absolute madness to Temple of the Dog stuff. Especially after Ed said that the singer from Mother Lovebone would have liked it here!!! DAMN!!!!

The show was amazing without Chris Cornell but imagine for just a second...........................ok. And to have Tim Robins instead? Oh well. I just know that if Chris was there and if he did go on stage it would have been a history making event in my life!

Thanks PJ. You remind me everytime I see you, why it is that I love you so much! Spreading the JAM is so fun!!!!

Nearly 24 hours later, I've still got Leash on the brain! It's never been a favorite, but it was so amazing last night that I'm going to have to move it up the list! The whole thing was just incredible. You know beforehand that you're going to see the best band in the world, and then you go and they blow you away. The layers of music, the amount of instruments, the depth of Eddie's voice, the crowd participation. I can't believe the solos on Evenflow; it just built up so gradually with Mike, and then he brought it down, and then suddenly we were under Matt's spell, and then we were singing again - I never wanted it to end.

Fans around us for the most apart; we were in 10C seats in Loge 26 and everyone around seemed to know a lot of songs. However, it seems like some people spend most of the concert text messaging and checking their phones! In the middle of a Pearl Jam concert!

We were among the first in and got a poster - it's perfect, of course. Can't wait to see the SB poster - we'll be there on Thursday!

Animal, Go, Footsteps, Off He Goes were unbelievable and RITFW gets better and better. It was a great end song for me. If I wasn't going to SB I'd be disappointed to not have heard Crazy Mary and Gone - hoping for those and Inside Job and Come Back.

There's no such thing as "Mike heavy" unless you're describing his playing.

  • I had the amazing experience of being on the front row for 2 nights in a row...Mike and Jeff's side night one, Stone's side last night. Night 2, when the lights went out, I saw the band RUN out on stage, energized and looking to ignite the stage on fire, like a boxer entering a ring ready for a fight. After Sundays show of a lot of TEN and PEARL JAM, I knew the band would dive deep into the catalogue tonite. Little did I know how deep they could dive. It was pure energy exploding out of the speakers in front of me....the set list didn't let up until Tim Robbins came out, and even that song kind of rocked...kind of.

I was section C, 1st row, seat 4, and was flailing, jumping, air guitaring, air drumming, and singing my lungs out....hope the folks behind me didn't mind. I remember talking to the couple in seats 1 and 2 after the 1st encore and having goose bumps....crazy. After Footsteps, I knew that the Mamasan trilogy was coming.

What a crazy amazing night. This is a personal thank you to the band and to my favorite fan club employee (you know who you are) for taking care of me and all of us! Pearl Jam forever!

  • LA II was my second PJ show (ever).

I wasn't even supposed to go night two, but the friend who was supposed to go with my fiance had to cancel. When he called me at work to see if I wanted to go. I was torn because I was still SO TIRED from night one. But I had been kind of bummed that I had only gone to one show after LA I was SO rockin'. So I said "Screw Sleep!" And agreed to go.

Before we went in to our seats, we saw some of the people we had met the night before. It got me even more pumped to be around hardcore fans. Plus everyone was so nice.

Night 2, my fiance had Ten Club tickets. They were perfect seats. On the side, down low. I could see the stage so well, probably better then some people on the floor.

I didn't know as many songs but I still danced and jumped around even though I couldn't sing along as often. I loved "Garden" and "Big Wave" seemed so much better the second night. And I was so happy to hear "Daughter" though I had been hoping for The Wall tag, it was still awesome.

I had totally forgotten about the song "Man of the Hour" until they played it during the encore. Another song that nearly brought me to tears.

And the ending with "Rocking in the Free World" was SO awesome. The lights came up in The Forum and you could see that everyone was totally into the song.

Though I loved the set list from night one because it had so many songs that reminded me of my younger years. Night two was awesome on other levels, more jamming out by the band, more energy around me (Ten Club knows how to rock!).

I can't say I liked one night more then the other, they were both great for their own reasons. Now of course, I wish I could go to more shows, but sadly my work schedule does not allow. I will just have to listen to the bootlegs and dream. This might be how hardcore fans are born. ;)

Have fun everyone who goes on to the California shows, my fiance will be out there with you grooving out!

    Great show.

Thanks to the A-holes who I saw with 3-4 posters. One of them sat next to me had three and I asked if I could buy one from her and she said "absolutely not." It's the only show I didn't get a poster to all tour for me, so I guess I can't complain.

That poster thing is out of hand. I prefer the $5 ones...I don't collect or sell 'em.

It really is, but what do you expect when there are limited quantities available? I told my friend to slap me if I kept mentioning the poster so I'd shut up about not getting one. :D
