The Ugly:
[RANT]What's up with these people who come to a ROCK'N'ROLL concert and want to sit down??? I literally had a guy behind me last night tap me on the shoulder and tell me, "I hate to ruin your guys vibe (my wife and I were dancing, as ususal), but the people behind me voted me to be the diplomat to tell you to please sit down." I took one look at the guy and the supposed group that voted for him, and simply told him, "Sorry, but no." Get your ass up and enjoy the show. And most certainly, don't bother a couple that is CLEARLY enjoying the show in their way. I was so pissed. But my wife... Man, I thought I was going to have to hold her back from this guy. Such a buzzkill. It really makes me appreciate the 10c tix that I had from SD and LA1 SOOOO much more. Not much better then seeing the world's best band with the world's best fans, not the weekend warriors that are there just to hear the radio classics. Sorry I ruined your nice padded seat view bro. >:-( [/RANT]
Dude, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience! That sucks, but I'm glad that you and your wife blew them off and enjoyed the show!
I was on the floor, row 13, and I had to deal with the couple in front of me watching the VIP section the whole night instead of the show. Fucking people, the stage is in front of you, who cares about the people in the side areas? AND these were 10clubbers! That was annoying.

I don't understand these people. Why would you come to a PJ show to stare and gawk at celebs? Buy a fucking magazine and stare people. Lame.
As for the show, it was a last minute decision after we had stayed the night in LA on Sunday, drove back home to San Diego, got fortunate to score some tix in the eleventh hour, and get back up there to see my dream setlist. I don't think that the place burning down could have ruined our time there. I just sang a little louder, danced a little harder, and positively vibed after the repeated interruptions from the "sitters". The guy even had the gall to call me a dick 'cuz we wouldn't sit and I still had a GREAT time.
I'm glad that we decided to go. I had to make some sacrifices to make it work, but it was SO worth it.
I just cant stop thinking about last night. I'm watching my 2000 DVD and just reminiscing about the last two nights. How freakin lucky are LA fans to have two nights of awesome PJ performance. Eddie was just like the young, vibrant, not to mention handsome, man I remember from 13 years ago! Matt, Mike, Stone, Boom, and Jeff were off the chain!!!! I really feel that they were at their highest spirits both nights! So many rare and kick ass songs-Man of the Hour, Garden, Last Kiss, Footsteps, Down, Crown of Thorns, Why Go, Release, SOLAT, RITFW, RVM, Porch, and it goes on and on........I think we got to hear everything off Avocado except Parachutes and Army Reserve-Awesome! They played a great selection of Vitology and Yield, especially MFC and Not For You. They played the whole Ten album-except Deep. I'm sure that San Diego was great because I've seen them there before but I don't think that anything can compare to the last two nights we just had in Los Angeles!
I went to Sunday & MOnday night shows, And was as usual blown away... I actually cried on Monday night, because out of the 20 shows Ive seen them play... Last night was the first time I heard FOOTSTEPPS LIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The boys have once again emerged and re-invented themselves without ever losing touch with their true selves....This is why Im a PJ fan......
That sucks about those lame fans. Unfortunately some people shouldnt even be let in the building.
I was lucky both nights with cool people near Me. Last night I was in Loge 12 Row C which is against the railing right above the floor on Mike's side. Probably about 25 feet from Mike. The best seats I've had at a PJ show. Totally blew My mind!
I finally have the strenghth to post after seeing the last 3 shows here in cali. I have bruises all over my legs and after last night, my sides. And i would'nt give them up for the world!! I've read everyone's stories and i'm really starting to get emotional. I took my best friend to these shows and she had only seen pj once before at the Northwest school benefit show in seattle last year. And she was blown away. (I LOVE YOU JEN!!!! SO HAPPY YOU'VE STEPPED OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE ) We are actually trying to get tickets to SF sat night if anyone has any cuz now she's hooked too! I could go on on on about how incredible SD was and how LA 1 & 2 (especially 2!!!!) rocked but everyone who was there already knows!! This has been a crazy roller coaster ride and i just wanted to add my sincere appreciation to pearl jam (and all you fans!). I've never had so much love for a band and we are all so lucky they are still together and making the best music out there!! LONG LIVE PEARL JAM!!!
I don't understand these people. Why would you come to a PJ show to stare and gawk at celebs? Buy a fucking magazine and stare people. Lame.

I agree with you! It never even occured to me to think about celebreties in the audience. Tim Robbins I couldn't care less about because he's a member of the Film Actor's Guild. And yeah sitters are quitters! I stood for all 3 hours of San Diego!
Confucious Says: He who buries a man's wife alive, should not expect to sit at that man's dinner table without the subject coming up.
My dream last night was to hear SAD and GARDEN. I almost peed my pants.
I can't believe someone asked somebody to sit down. I mean, where do they think they are, the fucking opera?
This is the first time I've seen PJ two nights in a row - and my friends were right, so worth it. Can't wait for Santa Barbara.
My fav moment - the big guy standing next to my husband who sang (and stood up like all of us did for the whole show cause we're fans -DUH) along with all the songs. His voice wasn't so great, but he wasn't one of those people who sing like - hey, look at me, I know all the words. He seemed like a guy who totally totally loved the band. I always want to stand by somebody like that.
I'm a little over Tim Robbins too. Chris Cornell - that would've been great.
Last night was really awesome! A continuation of night 1. Definitely for the Pearl Jam freaks! Casual fans were complaining that last night sucked compared to night 1. They just dont realize how lucky they were to get MFC, Footsteps, Garden, Man of the Hour-are you kidding me-Classic! They played alot of crowd favorites too-Alive, Animal, Betterman, RITFW. Although I would've liked to hear a little Black like I said it was a continuation of night 1 so I can't be greedy. Our 10 Club seats were awesome tonight-definitely closer then last night. We were in section 10 as compared to section 27. But what was up with the security guards in sections 9-11. They looked like they were on a DEA bust! Trying to search people for weed-give me a freakin break-its a concert-get a real job! Buzzkillers! Still had a rockin time anyway! Ten clubbers in Lower Section 10 Rocked! I'm sad because I won't see them the rest of the tour so all of you freaks following them I hope you guys enjoy it double for me too okay! Until we see each other next time-keep on rockin' in the free world!
I was in the second row of Loge 10 (Row DD) and loved the show! Good call though on security, they were NUTS. I was right next to the main tunnel that led off the floor and saw them drag at least 10 people out of the Forum through there.
Maybe this should be another thread but ...... I MET MIKE FUCKING McCREADY in Santa Monica at the Broadway deli. My wife and I got a pic with him and talked with him for a few minutes, although I was shaking like a little girl. That finishes me for this tour and I couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks Pearl Jam , Ten Club and all the "real" rocking fans.
Dude!! Kickin photos!! I was section E, row 4, not too far back, had a straight shot of the band and my photos are garbage compared to yours. Wicked photos, thanks for the link. LA2, awesome. Freaking awesome time. For those complaining about it, you have nothing to complain about. I don't let lame ass people who want to sit and not dance and move around bother me. I just shake my sweat off on them! SF next! See you guys there!
The Boys (I mean Men) brought it to LA lock and loaded with the new album. I can't think of current band that have created a new album 15 years into being a band that was delivered live so powerfull.
Did we hear every song from ten in LA except Oceans and Deep?
Having see Mother Love Bone live, the tribute was very touching when Eddie looked at Jeff and said Andrew would have enjoyed playing here.
In fact there is an interview with Andrew about talking about how he wants to play the Forum and be a rock star and yell "your mother smells Bad" as an example and having the crowd still go nuts.
I guess my biggest dissapointment was that the floor should have been GA so as hard core pearl jam freaks could have gone all nuts together instead of standing next to a guy with his hands folded half of the show.
I really enjoyed GO and BIG WAVE. I think they could have done a chiller tune after Rockin in a free world. I liked it in the past when at the end of the show they would all stand arm and arm and take a bow. I think they should bring that back.
LOOKING forward to Portland and George
I Did Notget To Attend Night One, But I Thought Nite 2 Rocked!!! I Was Very Pleased With The Set But I Wish They Would Have Played More From Binaural, yield, And Riot Act! I Was Singing Along With Every Song, And Managed To Piss Off The 2 Fat Girls In Front Of Me, Who Seemed To Be There Just Because It Was A Kroq Concert, They Didn't Even Know One Damn Song!!! But I Was Happy With The Set!

No way!! I work literally across the Promenade from the Broadway Deli - my office is above the rotating sushi place.
Great show, great setlist. Was it just me or wasn't the ok ok tag on Daughter really Sonic Youth's Andrognous Mind and not Dead Moon's It's OK. Why does the Synergy site say it was Dead Moon? Anyone agree?
Well I put this out on this thread and the other LA 2 concert review thread, and still haven't heard anything from anyone. Come on Fans! Doesn't anyone remember the way Ed sang this during the beginning of the Daughter tag section. It wasn't the call and response It's OK Dead Moon style at all, I really think it was the A.M. Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? Anyone?
Peace to all Jammers

I remember that. Everyone was singing along! The show was awesome though, although the people next to me were annoying..like, they had no vibe at all. Just standing there and clapping after every song. My uncle took me, and had to sit down, but I mean, he'd been working all day earlier and he's gettin' kinda' old, so I don't blame him. He enjoyed the show though. I enjoyed Sonic Youth too. But most of all the concert. I just had really far seats though, so I couldn't see too well. But I still had a good time. It was funny, cuz in the beginning before the show, I had two slices of bread in my pocket, and the guy was all squeezing around me to check me. And he felt the bread and there was this look on his face lmao. He probably thought I was trying to smuggle in weed haha. There seemed to be a lot of people there though.
When Ed was talking about 'X' and 'Must Not Think ad Thoughts'... I thought FOR SURE that John Doe would be coming out. This would have been great because I have gotten to know John through a mutual friend and I see him when he does his acoustic gigs around town... and John Doe is one of the most sincerly nice guys you'd ever meet. That's why I was kinda bummed when Tim Robbins came out... I was hoping more for a singer/musician... not an actor.
...
John was probably busy with his daughter's soccer team last night.
I fell you Cosmo, I thought the same thing, I was sure John Doe was coming out, I'm stoked that I have tix to see X in SF later this month, never had the privilege of seeing them live, my cousin said the show he saw a couple years ago was great.
"Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)
I took my 9 year old son to the show last night (his first PJ show) and I just want to say a big "Thank You" to all of the fans. After the show my son talked about 2 things.
The first was how great the music.
The second, which he talked about more than the music, was how nice all of the people at the show were to him. We sat in Log 9, row A and EVERYBODY around us talked to him and made him feel special. Thank you!
When we went to the bathroom he was greeted by people telling him they were excited to see him at the show and on both trips people in line told him to go in front of them. They didn't want him to miss any of his first Pearl Jam show - Thanks letting him go and being so cool to him! Also, thanks to the guy who used The Force with him on the paper towel machine (The Force is stong in both of you), it was pretty funny.
Then there was the guy who was parked next to us in the parking lot. As we walked up to the car we were welcomed with, "kid, I was sitting in the same section as you and you rock. It is so great that you are here and I am glad you came." This made Will feel really good so thank you also!
Personally, I as his dad also want to say thank you to everybody. We were told so many times how great it was that I brought Will to the show and how I must be a great dad. God knows that I try and I think so far I have done okay but it is always good to get encouragement!
See you next tour, off to Ebay to try and pick up a poster for the show that won't break the bank!
Both shows were frickin awesome!!!
I hope the San Francisco fans show up!!! I'll be there rockin' again!
Man...I didn't know Chris Cornell was there at the second show. Imagine, Ed calling up Chris and then....SOME Temple of the Dog!!!! OH my!!!!! Who here would have jumped higher, sang louder, pumped their fist stronger, who would have lost their fucking minds, how many ladies would have gotten moist, how many of us would have shaken our heads in absolute madness to Temple of the Dog stuff. Especially after Ed said that the singer from Mother Lovebone would have liked it here!!! DAMN!!!!
The show was amazing without Chris Cornell but imagine for just a second...........................ok. And to have Tim Robins instead? Oh well. I just know that if Chris was there and if he did go on stage it would have been a history making event in my life!
Thanks PJ. You remind me everytime I see you, why it is that I love you so much! Spreading the JAM is so fun!!!!

Big As A Mountain
( OIIIIO ) It's about being able to go where most can't - Forget it, It's a Jeep thing!
Nearly 24 hours later, I've still got Leash on the brain! It's never been a favorite, but it was so amazing last night that I'm going to have to move it up the list! The whole thing was just incredible. You know beforehand that you're going to see the best band in the world, and then you go and they blow you away. The layers of music, the amount of instruments, the depth of Eddie's voice, the crowd participation. I can't believe the solos on Evenflow; it just built up so gradually with Mike, and then he brought it down, and then suddenly we were under Matt's spell, and then we were singing again - I never wanted it to end.
Fans around us for the most apart; we were in 10C seats in Loge 26 and everyone around seemed to know a lot of songs. However, it seems like some people spend most of the concert text messaging and checking their phones! In the middle of a Pearl Jam concert!
We were among the first in and got a poster - it's perfect, of course. Can't wait to see the SB poster - we'll be there on Thursday!
Animal, Go, Footsteps, Off He Goes were unbelievable and RITFW gets better and better. It was a great end song for me. If I wasn't going to SB I'd be disappointed to not have heard Crazy Mary and Gone - hoping for those and Inside Job and Come Back.

Thanks for sharing. Way to go.

I had the amazing experience of being on the front row for 2 nights in a row...Mike and Jeff's side night one, Stone's side last night. Night 2, when the lights went out, I saw the band RUN out on stage, energized and looking to ignite the stage on fire, like a boxer entering a ring ready for a fight. After Sundays show of a lot of TEN and PEARL JAM, I knew the band would dive deep into the catalogue tonite. Little did I know how deep they could dive. It was pure energy exploding out of the speakers in front of me....the set list didn't let up until Tim Robbins came out, and even that song kind of rocked...kind of.
I was section C, 1st row, seat 4, and was flailing, jumping, air guitaring, air drumming, and singing my lungs out....hope the folks behind me didn't mind. I remember talking to the couple in seats 1 and 2 after the 1st encore and having goose bumps....crazy. After Footsteps, I knew that the Mamasan trilogy was coming.
What a crazy amazing night. This is a personal thank you to the band and to my favorite fan club employee (you know who you are) for taking care of me and all of us! Pearl Jam forever!
