The setlist was better on night one and it was fantastic! Night two was as described, just pure, adulterated rock. I thought night two was better overall. They just "smoked" from beginning to end. If you look at the two setlists combined we were given everything we could have asked for.

Yesterday's Betterman seemed to have better crowd singing (though Ed really didn't let us sing as much as yesterday, either), but that's not the story here. Ed returned to "Baby Please Don't Go", slightly modifying the lyrics to fit the backing tune. The only part of Save It For Later that was sung was the "Don't run away, run away, run away... DON'T LET ME DOOOOOOWWWN" bit, but it was still amazing. When they do extend the song in concert, they've really turned the end of it into an incredible bit of inspired jamming, and tonight's version was awesome.

Ed goes, "That was OK" after the singalong. SD got a "That was fucking bueatuiful"

Back to the show... First was Eddie's surprising preset of Walking the Cow. I never thought I'd hear that one, for sure.

I am SO surprised that Eddie did "Walking the Cow" and am soooo jealous of everyone that was there that got to hear it! Like you said, I NEVER thought that they would ever play it again and I'm so shocked that it's now a possibility to hear at a future show! That's awesome that you were there and got to hear it...now only if it could be on the bootleg!!! :D

I went to San Diego and LA I and II, and all I can say is that if you put them all together, you get everything this band has to offer. I thought the crowd was most intense in San Diego, and then Night I in LA closely behind that. I see the two LA shows as one giant setlist, and if you put them together, you have the ultimate PJ concert.

My ONLY complaint was not about the band, but in my section (back of the floor), the crowd in Night 2 seemed to be kind of down, which is in great contrast to the crowds in San Diego and Night 1. I saw lots of "bored girlfriends" sitting on their hands. But it is a small complaint compared to how awesome the setlist was for all of these shows. I am still reeling, and I wish I had more shows to go to, but I am done for the tour.

    Thanks Pearl Jam.

Well, unlike many of you lucky people on the board, LA2 was my first PJ concert & it was special for me.......

I had a great time but just wished our seats were better/closer. We were in the colonnade section near the stage but most of the people around us were up on thier feet the entire show. Even if they hadn't been, it wouldn't have made a difference to me - I was gonna rock regardless....

Highlights for me: Garden, WW Suicide, Corduroy, SOLAT, Man of the Hour, Off He Goes (esp.) & RITFW.
Would love to hear: Given to Fly, Black, Release.

    Thank You Pearl Jam.....:-)

I've been a huge fan ever since I heard the first few bars of Jeremy way back when & I always will be.

I'm looking down the road to more shows, as many as I can make it to.

Can you feel the love? xoxoxox

Safe Travel, Guys & Thanks Again! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

After sitting on the 405 because of an accident for 45 minutes and driving all through the night to make it back to Nor Cal, the smile on my face still cannot be wiped off. I only hit LA2 and it was by far one of the best PJ shows I've ever been to, and this was my 8th show over the past 10 years. The setlist was unreal, blew me away. I have never heard them do a setlist quite like this. It rocked the entire time. And the crowd, I thought the crowd was great. Everyone in my section was pretty much rockin out except for the chick who brought her mom along. Phenominal night, I haven't slept or showered in 24 hours. I'm exhausted, ready to pass out, but what a show. What a wicked time. SF, Gorge, here I come!!

Wish I would have done it Sunday night as well. What a great spot to see the show, I was right on top of the action and had a real cool view of the stadium from the bands eye. The sound was fine, as were the actual views ot the band action.

Set list was much more to my liking the second night. Tim Robbins is a tool though, I really wish the band would leave politics out and let the music speak for itself, which is obviously has the ability to do.

Fun to watch Stone and Mike be Mike.

I was behind the stage, just over the guitar tech area (Loge 20/Row J/Seats 1-2) on Sunday. You're right! Great way to see Pearl Jam and their eye-view of the crowd! My seats for LA II weren't as great as Sunday but I liked LA II much better. What an amazing setlist!

From vegas to LA 1 to LA 2 the momentum keeps on building and building..courtesy of 10 club i. was center floor for Vegas, Mike's side for LA1 and who would ever thunk it but courtesy of Ticketmaster.. single, day of public release Stone's side 1 row up adjacent to EV's wife,daughter...(she lasted about 3 songs) Serena (majority of first set....excuse the pun) and for a time Chris Cornell as well....he was all over the place I guess.
Never realized how great the seat was untill i actually kept going down and down the stair case till I hit rail right next to the stage....

The sights were beautiful and as for the music... the notes speak for themselves

On to Santa Barbara and with any luck Fonda before that ...trade anyone anyone

Last night was really awesome! A continuation of night 1. Definitely for the Pearl Jam freaks! Casual fans were complaining that last night sucked compared to night 1. They just dont realize how lucky they were to get MFC, Footsteps, Garden, Man of the Hour-are you kidding me-Classic! They played alot of crowd favorites too-Alive, Animal, Betterman, RITFW. Although I would've liked to hear a little Black like I said it was a continuation of night 1 so I can't be greedy. Our 10 Club seats were awesome tonight-definitely closer then last night. We were in section 10 as compared to section 27. But what was up with the security guards in sections 9-11. They looked like they were on a DEA bust! Trying to search people for weed-give me a freakin break-its a concert-get a real job! Buzzkillers! Still had a rockin time anyway! Ten clubbers in Lower Section 10 Rocked! I'm sad because I won't see them the rest of the tour so all of you freaks following them I hope you guys enjoy it double for me too okay! Until we see each other next time-keep on rockin' in the free world!

Great show, great setlist. Was it just me or wasn't the ok ok tag on Daughter really Sonic Youth's Andrognous Mind and not Dead Moon's It's OK. Why does the Synergy site say it was Dead Moon? Anyone agree?

Well I put this out on this thread and the other LA 2 concert review thread, and still haven't heard anything from anyone. Come on Fans! Doesn't anyone remember the way Ed sang this during the beginning of the Daughter tag section. It wasn't the call and response It's OK Dead Moon style at all, I really think it was the A.M. Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? Anyone?

    The Good:
What a setlist!!!! Being one of the fortunate souls that was at the SD show and LA1, I was really appreciative of the setlist for LA2. It had some songs I hadn't seen live, great energy, and some rarities. In fact, my wife and I were talking about what songs we wanted to hear and they played almost all of them that we mentioned, including one of my all time favs, Off He Goes. Too good! It definitely made up for LA1, which I felt (hate to say it) was mailed in after such an amazing and energetic show in San Diego.
Also, a huge thanks to Chaz for the last minute tix. I hope your buddy enjoyed his first PJ show. It was a memorable one...

    The Bad:
I don't enjoy Tim Robbins at all. I just don't know what it is, but I really can't stand the guy. I can appreciate the respect that the band shows toward him, and I can appreciate his stances on certain issues, but don't degrade the music by inviting him onstage. That's all I'll say about that!
The only other bad that I have is the fact that if you are some pocket-stuffing businessman that chooses to neglect the people who actually make you money, then you might as well spit on your mom too. Just because the Forum isn't a prime location for shows or as bustling as it used to be, it doesn't mean that you shit on your help. I hope that the labor dispute that surrounded the venue is resolved soon. Some of the people that we talked to outside the venue were great people and didn't deserve the treatment that they had received.

    The Ugly:
[RANT]What's up with these people who come to a ROCK'N'ROLL concert and want to sit down??? I literally had a guy behind me last night tap me on the shoulder and tell me, "I hate to ruin your guys vibe (my wife and I were dancing, as ususal), but the people behind me voted me to be the diplomat to tell you to please sit down." I took one look at the guy and the supposed group that voted for him, and simply told him, "Sorry, but no." Get your ass up and enjoy the show. And most certainly, don't bother a couple that is CLEARLY enjoying the show in their way. I was so pissed. But my wife... Man, I thought I was going to have to hold her back from this guy. Such a buzzkill. It really makes me appreciate the 10c tix that I had from SD and LA1 SOOOO much more. Not much better then seeing the world's best band with the world's best fans, not the weekend warriors that are there just to hear the radio classics. Sorry I ruined your nice padded seat view bro. >:-( [/RANT]

All in all, this has been a great weekend, and as is the case with probably ALL fellow Jammers, I'm looking to see if I can squeeze in another show before this tour ends!!

Thanks for the memories guys!!! VIVA PEARL JAM!

Usually I'm one to say if you wanna sit, that's cool. Everybody enjoys things in their own way. BUT HOW COULD ANYONE SIT LAST NIGHT (LA2)!!!. The only time I sat was before the final encore. If this band doesn't make you at least stand then why are you there. And don't ask someone to sit. We are not dogs.

This would have been great because I have gotten to know John through a mutual friend and I see him when he does his acoustic gigs around town... and John Doe is one of the most sincerly nice guys you'd ever meet. That's why I was kinda bummed when Tim Robbins came out... I was hoping more for a singer/musician... not an actor.

John was probably busy with his daughter's soccer team last night.
