  • I can list all the songs I don’t like in one hand. Mankind I’m looking at you first. I love this bands catalog and always love when a song comes on during shuffle and I hear it almost for the first time and hits me. This catalog is full of gems. From Ten to Lightning Bolt. But people are going to hate regardless even though they can make anything as great a one note from these guys.

And PJ is one of the few bands that I want to hear the new stuff live. Can’t wait for all that is to come.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

Speaking of Tours...specifically album tours....those are the best. You usually get 8 or 9 new songs. And some of those you will never hear again. They are so special for that reason.

To me, they go hand in hand. Come out with a new solid record that they want to promote-----you get a much better, longer tour than the stadium slop we've gotten the last few years.
You are likely to get a longer tour, but that will come hand in hand with many people shitting all over much of the new music. Seems to happen every time now.

Also...the stadium shows have been awesome.
I don't get all the hate when they release new music. I can count on one hand the number of PJ songs I don't like in their whole catalog and there's only 1 from the last two albums on my list.

I also agree, I went to 3 Fenway stadium shows and thought all 3 were awesome. Of course I prefer an arena but there is something special about a stadium show as well.

Neither do I. Sure, there are some songs that I like more than others & even a few that I skip over...but the negativity is ridiculous.

There are other bands/artists out there that are putting out some awesome music.
    I LOVE MUSIC.

I feel like I'm in the minority when I go to a show hoping to hear the new material. All the casuals want all the hits, and that's what I think most bands struggle with. I know I've spoken to a few of my fave bands and they say this all the time "if we play such and such, you're the only one in the crowd that will know it". My favourite, was when I asked Hugh Dillon if they'd ever play Streets of Laredo, off a little known soundtrack. He said "if I say who wants to hear Streets of Laredo, most of the crowd is going to think I'm asking if they want to hear Sheeps Love Tomatoes".

I think PJ is an anomaly where they know a larger portion of their fans want new songs and/or deeper cuts.

It doesn't matter the band, to me. I like to hear new stuff live, regardless if it's on the same "level" as previous material. If I wanted the same show over and over, I'd buy the dvd or just watch youtube.

Jesus what the fuck happened in here?!?  Hugh called a bully, people getting bent about Dimi...what the fuck?!?  People need to chill the fuck out and be excited about some solid PJ rumors.
Whenever tour rumors start to heat up, and Dimitri posts what is usually reliable info, somebody has to challenge him. It's never if he'll be challenged just when and by whom.

You’re correct and he seemed very upset yesterday especially about knowing about Woodstock and how he felt about not telling anyone.

And to HFD you’re absolutely correct so I am formally apologizing.

just an observation, but it seems that not everyone appreciates these little tidbits of information that really amount to nothing until the official announcement. Let's be honest, 'save your money' is honestly so little info, it can actually stress people out thinking now they can't spend a dime of their own money over the next several months waiting for this "blow your mind" announcement. seriously, we all know there are people on here that live and die by this band and their tours. so when that info is given, I can sort of see why people get all excited, but then that changes to annoyance when they get nothing else. and when they know someone knows and is able to plan accordingly, and dangles the proverbial carrot in front of them, but can't/won't share the rest, it seems to frustrate some.

most people don't have the ability to just drop everything and go to 15 shows.

it's not me, as I go to one show per tour maximum. just what I've seen here over the years.

I think a lot of people appreciate it, because it gets them excited for what's coming. myself included. just giving a possible window into the other side.

but he did also say everything is in "the works" not finalized, so that's really all he can say. anything else he himself would just be speculating

I know. i'm just saying that I think people around here can get a bit irrational/emotional when it comes to these things. that's all I'm saying.

I think we should be happy for even the smallest hint.  After 2/3 years of nothing, people should just appreciate that something is brewing.  I think we can all imply that there will be shows in 2020, and he was even kind enough to specify that the Both US shows as well as international shows are in the plans.  I’d love all the insider info as well, but am happy with even these small hints.
    2010: Cleveland
    2012: Atlanta
2013: London ONT / Wrigley Field / Pittsburgh / Buffalo / San Diego / Los Angeles I / Los Angeles II

    2016: Ft. Lauderdale / Miami / Jacksonville / Greenville / Hampton / Columbia / Lexington / Philly II / New York City II / Toronto II / Bonnaroo / Telluride / Fenway I / Wrigley I / Wrigley - II / TOTD - Philadelphia, San Francisco

My complete guess based on nothing but my deductive reasoning skills, hopes, and dreams..

    1. Album out sometime around the holidays Nov/Dec/Jan (Merry Christmas to the fans maybe?!)
    2. Tour kicks off in AU/NZ in Feb/Mar...maybe get crazy lucky and have couple of Asia dates sprinkled in (aprox 6 shows)
    3. U.S. leg one April/May (aprox 10 shows)
    4. Usual Europe summer/festival circuit June/July (aprox 12 shows)
    5. U.S leg two August/Sept  (aprox 10 shows)
    6. South America dates in Oct/Nov (aprox 10 shows)

I'd think about 40-45 shows overall for a new album "world tour", plenty of break time between legs, time for baseball in Sept/Oct, etc.  Pipe dream maybe, but not outside the realm of possibility I'd say...

So we're clear. This guess based on "nothing but his deductive reasoning skills, hopes, and dreams" is no different than anything else any other random Tenclub member is posting in this or any other thread. To think otherwise is foolish.
