yes i'm sure some sexism plays a part but i am still completely baffled by women who voted for Trump. I know many education and intelligent women who admit to voting for the guy. I honestly can't fathom how any woman could have voted for the guy over Hillary.mickeyrat said:
interesting point of view. especially given the population is slight majority women.PJ_Soul said:
HA!! Yeah, against a guy who said grab her by the pussy???? That does say a LOT about how people feel about voting for a female POTUS: that they aren't willing to. I think it is the height of naivety to think that Trump winning didn't have something to do with sexism. To me that is crazy talk. Pure denial. YES, America is too sexist to elect a female, and the polls compared to the quality of the dem candidates right now help prove it.my2hands said:
Bullshit... America is too sexist for a woman Potus? Typical horseshit broad stereotyping of Americans on the AMT...PJ_Soul said:
The point is that there is no way in hell that they can't find "the right person" in a woman, considering how underrepresented women are by government (and considering that a woman has never held either of the two spots in the history of the nation), combined with the number of amazing women there are to choose from. There is no way in hell that a male running mate would be best over a great woman. Well, the right person for POTUS is a woman too, but America is still too sexist for that probably.F Me In The Brain said:Why?
I'm all for the P or VP being the right person, regardless of gender...but why would a male P need to choose a female running mate?
You forgot a woman just got 3 million more votes than her opponent in a national election?
Guess what, we aslo voted for a black man, twice!
and to be honest in this election cycle I'm not necessarily interested in voting for the best Dem candidate. I'm interested in voting for the DEM candidate who has the best chance to beat Trump. I almost don't care about their policies this cycle. It's ONLY about getting this guy out of office ASAP. I'll deal with any policy consequences after the fact.isnt that where we are with Trump?yeah Electoral College. But 60 million people were "I dont care who it is, as long as it isnt Hillary."_____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

Just another editorial on that sexism point I believe in, for consideration.

I voted for Hillary in the Virginia primary and advocated for her tirelessly on this site. That included many verbal throw downs against the Bernie fans here. I won't vote for Warren because of her policies. Do you think im sexist? Do you think im the only white male like that?PJ_Soul said:Just another editorial on that sexism point I believe in, for consideration.0 -
I'm certainly not saying there isnt sexism. There is. But that doesn't make Warren's numbers the product of sexism. Hillary's candidacy success proves that.0

I did. If the only argument is that women are judged by a different standard, then I agree. But women are just as judgmental on that same physical standard as men are.PJ_Soul said:

I'm reading all of these articles with the subtle context that any man that doesn't vie for a woman has some embedded sexist reason. Maybe im reading too much into it.0 -
            "Vote".. not vie, obviously.0

Then I don't understand why you asked me the questions you did. I liked this article partly because it specifically responds to your reaction of "I have supported women, do you think I'm sexist?"mrussel1 said:

How so? How do I examine my unconscious bias, when I happily pulled the lever for Hillary? That doesn't make sense. You know what else doesn't make sense? This quote from the article..PJ_Soul said:

"You’re in the minority, though. American men largely do nothave faith in women as leaders. In fact, only 45 percent of American men say they are comfortable with the idea a female president."
How is 55% in the minority? And how do I answer for the 45% "majority"? I can only speak for me, and how I feel about Warren. As to Amy and Harris, I have not heard enough policy positions. Isn't that what any politician wants though? Judge him/ her on the positions.0 -

You don't have to agree, but she hardly sounds dumb in her argument for it: https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/04/23/elizabeth-warren-amazon-google-big-tech-break-up-town-hall-vpx.cnnmcgruff10 said:Warren lost me at breaking up amazon. Dumbest idea in a long time. Biden 2020

Huh? 45% is the minority they are referring to. Read it more carefully.mrussel1 said:

I think the platform argument is off base. It's instructive that she chose fb, Google and Amazon, and left off Apple who is the closest to the legal definition of a monopoly. Amazon is the furthest.PJ_Soul said:
