I'm interested in voting for the DEM candidate who has the best chance to beat Trump.  I almost don't care about their policies this cycle. It's  ONLY about getting this guy out of office ASAP.  I'll deal with any policy consequences after the fact.

    I agree, and while it may not be directly comparable, it’s scary to me that we should be in this position where policy matters less than who’s able to prevent further corruption. Reducing corruption is necessary, but it’s not enough.

    I see that you post MLK articles in support of Sanders and one of the complaints with Biden is the crime bill in the 90's. You do know that Sanders voted YES on that bill, correct? And that he has represented a state that is almost completely white for his entire political career so does not really connect with the black community and really has never made an effort to reach out to that large majority of the Democratic base.

     And Sanders is also pro-gun. 

    And he does not play well with others. I think he would have a very difficult time dealing with Congress and compromising. And he would have the same allegiance to his base as Trump does, IMO. We don't need that again. 

    He would have a difficult time winning a general election because the same Republicans that would never vote for a woman would never vote for a Socialist. One is just seen as not capable of holding such an important office (I heard men, and women, say as much in interviews prior to 2016 - not just HRC, any woman) - and Socialist is a word that just sets off all kinds of red flags to them. 

    Not saying if is right, just saying that it exists.

    Sanders is older than Biden. So did he grow up in the 16th century? The man is in his 70's, he thinks that this country has been pulled apart and we are at each other's throats. This is true. Why do you make fun of him for wanting comity in governing and healing in the country. Biden has his baggage, just like every other candidate, but making fun of him for wanting to heal the country and his age (when the other front runner and the President are both in their 70's also) just looks like nitpicking. I haven't seen you make fun of Sander's age. Gotta be consistent with the pros and cons.

    There are some women that will vote against their interests, laugh at jokes that are demeaning to women, put up with unequal treatment at work - it is just how it always has been and it is how it is. Especially if this was the thinking of their parents and is the thinking of their husband and social group. Other women would rather gauge out their eyes before voting for him. 

    Religion being the top answer makes 0 sense in regards to voting for Trump.

    Watched a little of The View interview so far, thought it was decent. He does have a good ability to connect on an emotional or personal level.
    I wasn’t very inspired by the kickoff video or campaign rollout, but seeing Trump go on the defensive this morning over his Charlottesville comments is a good start.

    He can sound however he wants, he's still the oldest person running for President. 

    Healing the country is wanting people to stop hating each other, to stop letting white supremacists think that they are 'good people', stop caging children and demeaning  immigrants  and brown people and scary religions and women who don't know their place, ya know, being a decent human being instead of racists angry POS's. I

    Make America Great Again is a desperate cry by white people who see that they will no longer be the majority in the country shortly. It is anti immigrant (even though we are all immigrants), pro white power, racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti progressive ideas.

    They are completely different and MAGA has caused the country to splinter in such a horrendous way that someone needs to heal this country or our democracy will fail.

    And America has always had problems, we are a new democracy and have struggled in being fair to all people. We are still not fair to all people. The atmosphere of the country in the Trump era is one of anger and corruption and acceptance of despicable behavior. That needs to stop and people need to be able to disagree without being disagreeable again. Then we can continue to make changes to make this country equal for all, which will take time, but has been stymied and set back. 

    America is a great country. It's not greatest country in the world, it's simply a great country. And it is based on an idea that this President wants to kill.

    My thought process was the Religious Right.
    I know some people who only vote Republican because of their abortion stance.  I also know some people who still think "the gays" go to hell.
    I hold that religion is a top reason a self respecting woman might vote for him.

    Yeah, the Religious Right seem obsessed with nitpicking parts of the Bible and ignoring the actual things that is attributed to Jesus' teachings like 'love your neighbor', judge not lest ye be judged, let those without sin cast the first stone. It seems to be all about who is bad in their eyes and not about trying to live life as a good person and turning the other cheek. I'm not religious, but I just find the RR to be a bunch of hypocrites. Believe what you wish but don't shove it down my throat. 

    It's amazing how the RR have stood behind Trump (who never held their beliefs until he decided to run as a Republican and probably really doesn't care about these issues except to get support) and when any transgression pops up they ignore it or say it was in the past, move along. Yet they demonize other people. Selective religious outrage. Ugh.
