Update from Mike on Pearl Jam @ the 32:48 mark.

They are writing songs for the new record! They got a bunch of songs ready to go.

=)

...
...

As for Pearl Jam, McCready says he hopes to work on something new with them soon. “We haven’t done anything since we were on the road last year,” he says. “I’m not sure what we’re doing. I’d love to do something, but I don’t have anything right now on the table. We just had a big touring year last year, and two giant shows in Seattle for a homeless benefit. And those were amazing and exhausting and exhilarating. When we all get back together, I’m sure we’ll be creating again. But I don’t have any timeline on that right now.”

2020 rumour thread is going to be dead to isn't it....

Hoping for a productive summer/fall from these guys in the studio. Odd they do not have any plans or know what the future holds though.

This is a legacy band, and nostalgia act at this point. Which is fine, they've been at it for a long time. I'm no longer counting on new music, and anything other than one-off fly-in shows, festivals or residencies. It was a great run.

We'll see. Their production as a band fell off the cliff. I completely agree with you about their creativity in their projects, though. I'm always interested in what Mike is up to, loved Jeff's last solo album, etc... So I'm still excited to follow the guys (well, not too interested in Vedder solo, as he bores me) and if they do ever get back together to create music, I'll get excited about that as well. But I'm not counting on it.

The small, optimistic side of me hopes their fucking with us and they’ll drop it this spring out of nowhere. I always think back to when they played on the same ticket as Beyoncé at Global Citizen and how hopefully she told them how cool it is to drop an album completely unexpectedly.

I guess this is how desperate I, personally, am getting for new music. Hoping Beyoncé influenced Pearl Jam....

Agreed, and I'm fine with it. The back catalog is enough to sustain me...and any shows in the future are a bonus at this point.

I'll be honest. I don't always believe every word every member of this band says. So a lot of these comments I take with a grain of salt. But, Mike has pretty much proven to be the straightest shooter over the years. This news is not good.

Ed seems to love solo shows, throw us a bone with a solo album. It sure sounds like Ed is the one that drags his feet in making music with the band, who knows, maybe his well is drying up

I think that's exactly the issue. His solo shows are cover songs, and PJ songs. He's not bringing anything new to the table these days.

Similar to comments from Stone and Jeff. Everybody is doing their own thing at the moment. Good for them and my bank account.

Doesn’t seem to be just Ed. Mike is doing other projects non stop. Same with Matt. PJ just doesn’t seem to be the focus for those three.

By the sounds of things, and this latest statement more or less the icing on the cake - I'm guessing that unless they just turn the reigns over completely to 10C or a 3rd party and just pull something from the recorded archives and come up with some clipart-style artwork, it's gonna be a VERY LONG time, if even ever, that we get the last 2 fan club singles.

Isnt the timing of all this suspect?
First, cancel Xmas single to start year, since band is never together.
Then schedule Ed tour, send announcement.
Mike confirms no PJ announcement to help Eds ticket sales.
Collect additional X dollars for membership and merch all year when band doesn't even really exist.
    :(
For a band not all about the money, this appears to be all about money.

It is sort of ironic that solo tour announced on same day Mike’s comment to Rolling Stone is released.
