    When the Levee Breaks
Ok I was up early this morning and put this album on...holy shit mind blown.  I pretty much knew every song on there but damn never heard them in a row like that.  What an incredible incredible album.  The only two songs that I wasn't a fan of were four sticks and the when the levee breaks otherwise the album in amazing.

    Rock and Roll
As a massive Zeppelin fan When The Levee Breaks seems to be a bit overrated. I feel like the story behind the drum sound elevates it to a level it doesn’t really earn as simply a piece of music. Still voting for something else this round and probably a few more rounds.

Going with Rock and Roll because it and Black Dog serve the same purpose of kicking off the album with a major impact and BD is superior.

Interesting race for 3rd place right now. We're demented if Stairway gets ousted.

Remember since this album only has 8 tracks, only 2 will be removed each round.

Plant's vocals on this album are unreal.

Scruffy... Four Sticks and Levee aren't the songs that jump out at you, but trust me... just like bitter beer does... they grow on you and once you have acquired the taste for them... other songs are plain in comparison.

Black Dog was an anthem of mine growing up in my teen years.

In the mid 80s, when me and my friends got to parties... we'd always have some new mixed tapes ready to go. We'd inevitably get there, go to the stereo, stop the cassette that was playing Madonna, and put in our's. Then stand by the stereo and guard the tunes lol. We could have been considered bullies I guess, but it had to be done.

Zeppelin was every 3rd, 4th, or 5th song on our mixed tapes separated by bands like The Who, The Stones, Rush, Skynyrd, and the rest of the classic rock genre.

I still remember hearing Black Dog for the first time.  I'm pretty sure we were going to or coming home from church and it came on the radio.  That would have been around 1980 or so I'm guessing.  I thought it was the greatest song I had ever heard.

Follow up question: is going to to California a very popular song amongst zep fans or popular to Pearl Jam fans because of given to fly?

Going to California is very popular with Zep fans because it is a f'n awesome song. Has nothing to do with Pearl Jam. Almost every person knew of the song, Going to California, before Pearl Jam even existed, including the members of Pearl Jam.

Arguably. And the arguments for the other albums have been going on between Zep fans forever.

Stairway to Heaven is on Zoso and it became a rock and roll legend so that gives the album more attention but there are arguably comparable or better albums.

I may have to take my location out of my heading after your arguably insane pick for weakest song.

I can say this about Led Zeppelin: at least they’re not Greta Van fucking Fleet.

A brief Led Zeppelin conversation I had with my father in 1996:

Pop:  "I remember when I was on your sister's graduation committee.  We got The Led Zeppelin to play for her prom!"

Me:  "Well actually, Pop, the band that played for her prom was Quicksilver Messenger Service.  And the name is just 'Led Zeppelin', no The."

Pop:  "Ohhhhhh no, I was on the committee!  It was The Led Zeppelin, with the The!"

    Me:  "Oooooooookay, Pop."

I would say it is their best double album as well.

Their best album though? Hmmm. II and IV and Houses are all contenders.

    I always wondered about that?

A subtle part of the movie demonstrating what a f**kup he was? Director’s error?

I'm curious as to what is that movie.  Doesn't look familiar.
