    Hey Bri...

That moose was awesome to behold. The picture doesn't do it great justice, but it's back and shoulders were massive- it was very healthy. I didn't want to venture too close because it had a calf nearby. They can be dangerous when they feel threatened- one attacked my dad when he was snowmobiling and tried to free a calf found stuck in some deadfall.

Powerful and strong animals. Just awesome to see in the wild.
They are BIG suckers, aren't they?!  I've seen a few in Washington and around Yellowstone.  Don't ya just want to go up and give them a big... ?!

Agreed. Every time we leave that place after our workout... the rest of the day is great.

We just got 15cm of fresh snow. We're going up again today and it should be fantastic!

I'm trying to spot a lynx. If I come across one, I'll be getting a shot if I can. There's also cougars in this region. If I come across one of them... I'll be skiing my ass off to the parking lot lol.

That would be SO COOL!  I've always wanted to see a wild cat larger than a bobcat- not that they aren't cool, they are and I've seen a few, but a large cat would be great.  Maybe the last thing I'd see, but great, lol.  Seriously though, be careful and if you spot one, I hope you get a photo!

Oh, and on closer look at your moose, it looks like he is observing a cross at about 2 o'clock from his head.  IS that cemetery?

Yesterday I along with my dad rescued a baby sparrow entangled in garden netting.
Took a while to snip all the wiring from around its wings and head. I held it my dad carefully snipped away. It escaped from my hands once and I had to recapture it. Couldn't fly because of the wires around it.
Sadly another baby sparrow next to the one I rescued was already dead and decomposed.
I sprayed some water on the sparrow before letting it go as it was a very hot day.

Sparrow hawks are beautiful to view but yes, rather brutal to watch them feed.  Years ago there was one the spent a good amount of time perched on the wires outside the apartment I was living in watching for rodents or whatever no nibble on.
