People complained when republican congressmen didn’t speak out regarding Trump’s nonsense. Now one speaks out before he’s even sworn in and... it’s not enough.

    Ugh.
And no, it’s not enough. It needs to be a chorus. For the sake of the nation.
You want a chorus, but you criticize the solo.  How about taking one at a time?  Winning in politics is not about slaying your opponent, it's about getting more people to vote for your position.  Telling people who made a mistake or didn't speak loudly enough for your liking to "own this" is not the way to convince those people of your righteous position and to join you.
I’m not willing to forgive them for their trespasses. They need to repent and be absolved of their sins. They should have known better. Is that my fault?
It's unreasonable and not connected with man's nature at all.

of course it's fair, and not just to some degree in my opinion. there are way too many people trying to shame people into voting democrat next time. all that will do is make them dig their heels in deeper. this left-wing righteousness is part of the reason we have trump in the first place.

Even staring into the face or stupid, repubs will vote with stupid because of 'righteousness'.

Wanna see how dumb I am?  I'm with stupid.

The idea of shaming people is an interesting one because to some degree- whether great or small- it's true. The anti-trump force would attract more bees to honey than with vinegar.

I wouldn’t agree with you on the ‘righteousness’ thing.

To my way of thinking... the ‘right’ has a monopoly on righteousness. The left has a degree of arrogance which the right struggles with, but it’s definitely the fairer side.

    gimme a bucket!

I just finished reading Henry Rollins' latest book,  Before the Chop IV.  The first 2/3 or so of the book are Rollins' final submissions to his weekly articles in the L.A. Weekly.  In most of those essays, Henry writes down his observations on much of the first years of Trump's presidency.  Like all Rollins work, it's insightful and often humorous and he hold no punches, but it is a bit nauseating to relive that first year.

And then of course there is year two...

    ...somebody gimme a bucket!

Didn't Mitt strap his dog to the roof of his car for a family road trip? That disqualifies you from being a "good person" in my book, regardless of politics

Anyway, i'm glad he is speaking out or whatever he is doing... we all know the man just wants to be POTUS

    What’s unreasonable?
Your Catholic-like expectations of people who voted for Trump are unreasonable.
There are deplorables that are irredeemable, to be sure.  But there are another 10+% of the country that voted for him that are not the "base".  Shaming them or telling them to 'repent' will not win their vote.  Broaden the coalition, don't shrink it.

Ignore the Trump supporters. If they still support him now they are a lost cause. There are plenty enough votes out there for Democrats to win without those cultists.

I think there is a middle ground between the hell-no Halifax-ers and accolades of acceptance for Mitt reborn. I think what he did was a calculated move to start his comeback run at POTUS. He posts an Op-Ed in WaPo, which Trump has labelled fake news and biased on numerous occasions, so Mitt's intention isn't to appeal to the Trump base, but to get some street cred with the undecided and swing votes. He knows that no liberal is going to switch sides for his meatloaf eating ass, but in the face of a pompous lying narcissist, he looks pretty damn good, even if it is just some half-baked words with no follow-up action. I'm sure he would also love to serve up some vengeance on the orange turd king of Joshua Tree National Park, but many others have failed when they have attacked so he will play it conservatively, like he should. I doubt much will change, but Mitt does bring the Republican ticket back toward a more stable trajectory. I am tentatively optimistic.
    It's a hopeless situation...

You know what? This is actually fair to some degree and has made me stop to think.

Better late than never? Maybe. Just maybe.

(F**k man... how could any person with 2 brain cells to rub together not see that this was a train wreck waiting to happen?)

    But maybe.
of course it's fair, and not just to some degree in my opinion. there are way too many people trying to shame people into voting democrat next time. all that will do is make them dig their heels in deeper. this left-wing righteousness is part of the reason we have trump in the first place.
Bullshit. “Left wing righteousness?” Oh please.

well, keep on telling perfectly reasonable people who simply like all the info before making a decision on any given topic how they are trump supporters and excusers of sexual abuse, and we'll see where it gets you.
WTF? You’ve lost me. If those who voted/supported Team Trump Treason haven’t seen the error of their ways and continue to support/vote for him again then they are indeed a lost cause and are endorsing corruption and incompetence to the highest degree. I don’t want any part of them and they can go fuck themselves. Seems to me Team Trump Treason’s disregard for the common good and endorsement of the worst of humanity is being normalized. USA, USA, USA!

Ignore the Trump supporters. If they still support him now they are a lost cause. There are plenty enough votes out there for Democrats to win without those cultists.

    Agreed. F**k 'em. No respect.

Fool me once... fool me twice.

    * I'm okay with those that have broken from the herd after realizing America wasn't becoming great again. They f**ked up. They realize they f**ked up. They're ready to atone for their f**k up. Lots of people get tricked by people wearing red hats made in China.

  • Worst one year stock market performance in a decade and another drop of 600+ plus points thus far today. Happy new year and thanks Team Trump Treason. Build the wall. Speaking of which, what happened to the invasion? Did the troops go home?
