New music is always good. This band used to be all about putting out records.fife said:
I think for me (get ready to attack) I love a pearl Jam concert but I love new music more. I don't want Pearl jam to become like (again ready to get attack) the Rolling stones. also, touring is marketing, maybe not just for a record but for a band.JimmyV said:Never understood the thinking behind "if you don't have a new album, you shouldn't tour." It reduces touring to just marketing for an album, and Pearl Jam shows have become so much more than that over the years.0 -
Not a good business decision. There is no money in recording. There is alot of money on touringSpiritual_Chaos said:

Really? Venue hire, marketing/advertising, security costs, travel costs, stage hands, riggers, insurance, catering...and on and on....that's a hell of a lot of tickets that need to be sold before a band covers those costs, let alone breaks even0 -
Which just shows how hard it is to make off of albums. You made good points and it’s stiol BY FAR the better way to make money.LostDog_72 said:Lerxst1992 said:

hahah...yes, especially considering i now live in Houston TX which they will NEVER come to again. Sorry, don't say anything about Austin. i'm not going there. Besides, I thought these guys fancied themselves as artists.Lerxst1992 said:0 -

there was a time that this band seemed to care more about writing songs and putting them out then live shows. in the early days live shows were extremely hard to come by, right? For me, I had no money, no transportation. You also had the problem of major ticket shortages and of course, the Ticketmaster beef. So, I had to wait till the latter end of the 90's to see the band live. By that time, I was hard core sold on the band's artistry. Live shows were just icing on the cake.Spiritual_Chaos said:

2019 tour rumors almost getting bumped off page one of porch in Nov 2018 is extremely depressing.0

Ed attributing Comfortably Numb to only Roger Waters, as great as Roger is, represents a significant misstep in front of the Pearl Jam audience. The song originated on the guitar of David Gilmour and the majority of the song was written during the recording of a Gilmour solo record0

Does Eddie know his Pink Floyd though?Lerxst1992 said:Ed attributing Comfortably Numb to only Roger Waters, as great as Roger is, represents a significant misstep in front of the Pearl Jam audience. First time he did the song was with Waters in 2012, and like most covers Pearl Jam keep are songs Eddie has been forced to learn. Haha."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

Yep. 12.12.12 Superstorm Sandy benefit at MSG. I remember watching on TV. So grateful Ed and Roger came to town for our benefit (although ironically Roger might claim to be a Long Islander) . Terrible storm. Still think Dave deserves mention for mostly his song.0 -

There should be no more debates about the bands lack of new music or small tour schedules. It has been this way over a decade. Everything is and has been about minimization of the band members time being a part of Pearl Jam and maintaining maximum flexibility.

Eddie really needs to buy himself some new clothes. I think he wore that blue & black checked shirt at nearly every European and US show this year? ffs Eddie you are not poor.. buy some new freaking clothes. Also that white wide brimmed hat Eddie sometimes wears on stage at the solo shows is too big for his head and looks dumb, especially when worn with the old black & blue checked shirt. And don't get me started on his 1980s hairstyle ...
Ahh.. that felt good.
