How does this equate to a fix? And of course you're implying that this "fix" is meant to favor the republicans. But I think long wait-times to vote would favor the democrats. It depends on which districts the long lines are in and which party controls the board of canvassers. 2004 in Ohio, extremely long lines and wait times were reported and it was found that the repub board of elections or canvassers placed too few machines in mostly minority, poor and majority dem wards and plenty of machines in predominantly white, wealthier and repub wards. Basically amounts to legal voter suppression as there are typically no laws regarding how many voting machines, poll workers or the time of cut off if you’re in line but haven’t voted when the polls close. I think that the high voter turnout is due in large part to Trump. Nearly 10 million more people voted in the 2016 general election than did in 2012. That has to be attributed to Trump. I understand your logic here: Trump is so horrible that people are coming out to vote against him. But if you separated everyone into two groups: "people that always vote" and "people that are voting because of Trump"...and then you took that "people that are voting because of Trump" group and see if there's more for him or against him, I'd wager a guess there'd be more for him. Absolutely true in '16, but the prediction is the opposite for today. In fact, if your statement were true, then we wouldn't be discussing the "blue wave" nor would democrats have won the vast majority of the special elections in the last two years. AND big elections in 17 (particularly in Virginia) would not have been a complete wipeout against the GOP. Democrats won net 13 seat in the legislature (that's enormous), and all three executive seats.Ledbetterman10 said:
