I vote every year. Lucky to have only a three minute wait. However, I have no hopes that the political culture would shift towards my preference. Fully expect social rights to be swept away over the next 2 to 6 years.

It depends on which districts the long lines are in and which party controls the board of canvassers. 2004 in Ohio, extremely long lines and wait times were reported and it was found that the repub board of elections or canvassers placed too few machines in mostly minority, poor and majority dem wards and plenty of machines in predominantly white, wealthier and repub wards. Basically amounts to legal voter suppression as there are typically no laws regarding how many voting machines, poll workers or the time of cut off if you’re in line but haven’t voted when the polls close. So yea, a “fix.” And I’ll bet the local faux news and AM radio talk shows are hyping the long lines and utter chaos as well.

Absolutely true in '16, but the prediction is the opposite for today. In fact, if your statement were true, then we wouldn't be discussing the "blue wave" nor would democrats have won the vast majority of the special elections in the last two years. AND big elections in 17 (particularly in Virginia) would not have been a complete wipeout against the GOP. Democrats won net 13 seat in the legislature (that's enormous), and all three executive seats. We will know soon enough..
