what about Merriweather Post Pavillion 1996 with mermaid.  The poster were pulled as apparently they were not endorsed by the band.  Wish I had that one.
I don't think that story is entirely true.

The band did not sanction the poster to have nipples showing I thought, so they screen printed them on?

400 or so out there?  Still not the rarest.
I think you're right about the Ames Merriweather.
My recollection from that time is a rumor that Kim of the Fastbacks (the opening act that night) saw the poster that night and thought it was offensive.  She told PJ how she felt and they stopped sales.  I was there that night and have the poster.  It was definitely on sale at the show with other official merchandise.  I have seen the estimates of 400 but also seem to remember estimates of about twice as many.  I also think the remaining stock was ultimately available from 10 Club after the tour.
Anyone have a pic of the poster? I'd love to see what Kim from the Fastbacks found so offensive. Surely it wasn't just because of nipples?
    Think this is the one.
Huh. Who would have thought that a member of the Fastbacks would be a huge prude?
    In
the Ames book there's a bit more background I seem to recall. Something about Eddie being really unhappy with it and that the image came from a porno mag. I d have to get the book out to be sure.
If they stole the image of the woman from a porno mag, then I understand why there would be a problem....
annnnnd how did they know it came from a porno mag?!?
    Stone recognized it

These were on the sides of Bus Stops in Chicago. Inquired about these after the show, company said they just trashed em. Should have “let the case open on its own”

Five years ago people were clamoring about them, now?  Not so much.

I have a bunch of the NYC billboard ones from 13.  Still sitting in a tube.  I have no idea what I'm going to do with them, lol.

Well over 100 of those.  Nope.
Only 34 in collections on Ebeans. Many are listed as 1st and H/C so they could double a few #’s. Definitely not well over a hundred, maybe half that. Also, no show editions were ever made. Regardless, this thread is a good/funny/interesting read behind the print:  http://http//forum.expressobeans.com/viewtopic.php?t=4649

You think everyone that has it is an ebeans user?

I've seen a bunch of these over the years and they still get sold by Emek.

He does.  I was there when he did it.

But . . . did you press it in a book or root it so that you had more?

Honestly, I'm impressed that you made it home with it in one piece no matter whether pressed or not.

Are we looking for rarest or most desired/expensive?

I wouldnt want that Zaius on my wall for instance, I dont care if there are 1 of them.

Rarest may also be the 1/1 Atlantic City NJ 05 Klausen variant, now on ebay for $2k.
Variants shouldn't count.  You would have 1000 "test prints" thrown into the mix then...

BRAD actually did two different 1/1 of the 05 Atlantic City prints, this one on eBay and the other is on my wall. The two have slightly different colors. He sold these on eBay with the proceeds going to help out his printing company he was using at the time
There are actually 4 different 1/1 editions for this one.

i guess then one the band signs for u in person or write  your name on the poster
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

I saw that on eBay too and was a bit skeptical about the writing & signature on the back, purportedly by Eddie Vedder. It's signed on the foam core or whatever the poster was backed with when it was framed so I don't see how it could've happened the night of the show (which is when I'd figure something like this would occur). And the name 'The Frogs' on the front, in what appears to be similar handwriting, seems to be written directly on the poster before it was framed. Hmmm...it's fun to play detective, eh?
Best band of the night doesn't refer to "tonight" but "the night". The Frogs is added on the glass after framing, you can see the reflection on the poster from the glass and the marker is unaffected. Looks to me like a gift after the event, not on the night.

Yeah. I got one about 8 years ago now, as that was my first show. Very seldom seen. Took me years to come across one and buy it. No pinholes either, mint condition and now framed.

Wouldn't the PJ20 Movie posters that were "found" during the soundtrack promotional scavenger hunt (not the big sized ones that were given out to PJ20 Alpine Package buyers) be the rarest since there's only 29 (one for each track on the soundtrack) and they are technically each one of a kind since they were marked for each track?
I agree, extremely rare! And i have one. :) Taking bids starting....

    Now! ;)

Thinking back a ways here, but I recall the true promo Emek did for Mirrorball being editioned out of only 10--it's essentially a PJ poster.

Obviously the smallest edition is the rarest by definition but....

to me a rare poster is a sought after one that never shows up for sale.  You hunt for years and years just to miss the Buy It Now during your conference call :anguished:
