Folks, a rock band isn't going to have big news every month. Take a peek at the merch and enter the contest. If you still desire input, diversify your interests.

Nobody's asking for big news. Just any news at all. And people have suggested what news could have been put in there - info people actually want. I could easily come up with 20 different things they could have quickly whipped up for a newsletter without having anything at all going on with the band right now. It's a called a newsletter for a reason, presumably. This month it was a flyer.

I don't know. Reading back through the suggestions, it ranges from "they probably don't have an update ready to share" to "I guess that's nice but I don't care that they didn't work it up into an article."

Well, I would have loved to read something more in depth about the charities they gave all that charity money to and see something about Chris Cornell (and seriously, if they still don't know what the presale deadline for the Vault is, that would be fucked up and make no sense. All they have to do is pick a date and say it). But there could be so many things... It doesn't take much imagination to come up with something to throw in a newsletter, seriously. Even just something reminiscing about some old show would work, with a few old photos. I imagine having something of interest to some is better than having nothing of interest to everyone. ;)

Why they don’t do a “this date in Pearl Jam history” is beyond me. It would rule!

Nice idea but seeing that the newsletter only comes out on the 10th the idea would run out of gas in a year.

Haha! More like 2 years, but I see what you mean. How about "This one time, in Pearl Jam history..."

I am the first to admit that I can be a bit...frugal but doesn't $35 for a t-shirt seem a bit steep? I suppose it doesn't help that I'm Canadian and also have to factor in exchange rates and higher shipping costs.

Let me rephrase my earlier comment: I am the first to admit that I can be a bit frugal but doesn't $70 for a t-shirt seem a bit steep?

For 35 bones there better be a setlist on the back!
  • Simple question- did everyone actually get the newsletter email today?  Today is the first time I can ever remember it hasn’t come through to my email at all yet.

I have to agree with some others on this one. It was a pretty weak “newsletter”. But oh well. What really kinda bugs me is $80 for a shirt.   I love that long sleeve button up but $80 fucking dollars?!?  Really?  Seems a little ridiculous. Guess I won’t be owning that shirt.

It's pretty rough for Canadians.  Between the exchange rate, shipping charges, and increased scrutiny over charging tax when goods cross the border, it really adds up ordering from 10c :(

I remember that short window a few years ago where Canadian shipping was cheap, the dollar was close to par, and anything under $100 could slide through the CBSA without being charged tax....  Ordered so much stuff from the 10c back then.

Same here. The button up shirt is really nice, but way too expensive.

Anyone who’s won a contest in the past, how were you notified? Did they email you?
Yes, they're going to notify you by email.

Why is this thread being bumped on the 17th?!
I freaked out and checked the calendar for a second, thinking I've missed 3 week's worth of bills.
