You know what's ridiculous, thinking politics has nothing to do with inappropriate sexual behavior.
I don't think anyone was saying sexual behavior isn't a problem with politicians.
I took his statement to mean that it doesn't matter what side of politics you are on, sexual behavior has proven to be an issue. I would agree with that.
Some here seem to think sexual behavior is only a problem for certain parties. That is the message I am getting from some comments. I would 100% disagree with that.

Has everyone forgotten how Hilary treated women victims in defense of her husband? I mean, come on, to say its a one party issues is ridiculous. They double-downed on that, and it worked. And for everyone who cries out "Why is that important?" every time she is brought up, its because she was the face of the democratic party until the last election, and since no one has stepped up to clearly replace her yet, she still sort of is. This is not a one-issue thing that doesn't illustrate an problem.
This is a problem on both sides, from many politicians, and has been happening for hundreds of years in politics.
I really just dont get the bias in this topic, to pretend one party has issues and not the other.
If you're going to get fired up over it, at least admit its a problem everywhere.0 -

I prefer my people in power to be real human beings that have partied and made some mistakes... not sexual assault of course but the conversation seems to have turned in here.... the last thing I want is leaders to be holier than thou, sheltered, naive, uptight assholes that never cut loose or made a mistake
Didnt Obama admit to partying pretty hard smoking large amounts of weed in high school/college and admit to doing blow when he could afford it? Yeah, what a loser lol0 -

"what happens in x stays in x" refers specifically to sexual behaviour. it isn't just "partying with the boys". the whole connotation is boys/men going to vegas and being "allowed" to cheat on their wives and treat women as sexual objects. everyone knows this. this is not an appropriate joke to make to impressionable youth by an adult in high professional standing.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -

but the reaction to it is MUCH worse on the R side than the D side.
When its a democrat being accused, republicans can have a pretty strong reaction and D's step up in defense.
And when its a republican, its reversed.
Its just politics on both sides.0 -

I’ve heard people say “what happens at a Pearl Jam concert stays at a Pearl Jam concert” in joking...but I never took that to mean that people wanted to fuck a bunch of people and not face the repercussions...

Was he admitting to wrongdoing during the clip? Who knows.
Just going to point out that you just validated the irrelevance of the “you must be a white male” statement.0 -

Didnt Obama admit to partying pretty hard smoking large amounts of weed in high school/college and admit to doing blow when he could afford it? Yeah, what a loser lol0 -

She is basically saying if you partied as a kid in high school or college then you can’t be a successful person.
She should stick to the sexual assault issue and stay away from drinking with friends and jokes about doing stupid stuff.
He added: “That’s been a good thing for all of us, I think.”
Senator Elizabeth Warren, Democrat of Massachusetts, tweeted the video of Judge Kavanaugh making the quip and said: “I can’t imagine any parent accepting this view. Is this really what America wants in its next Supreme Court Justice?”
She's not referring to the drinking; she's referring to the "what happens at Georgetown Prep....." statement, which typically is equivalent to "we'll just ignore any bad behaviour from that time and pretend it never happened", like when people refer to Vegas. I do think people are making way too far a leap to assume saying "what's happens here stays here" is some way if saying sexual assault is ok... that's a ridiculous leap and assumption for me
You guys never has a group of friends you partied with that you felt safe getting out of line with because you knew they wouldn't gossip about it, or that it would "stay there"? I mean c'mon folks, lighten the fuck up. I have never sexually assaulted anybody but I have definitely gotten out of line partying having a good time with friends and I'm glad we keep it amongst ourselves. But if course now everyone wants everyone to be so pure and perfect, except for themselves of course0 -
