The area is in the "marginal" for severe weather. Ignore the tornado talk.

  • Fingers crossed for all of you headed to the show tonight. I was at the 2013 show and I'm still really grateful the show wasn't cancelled. The delay then made for a good story now, but it was pretty miserable at the time!

the radar looks like the rain is coming now but should be gone by tonight... in zooming out and looking at US map I don't see an "all day & night" rain pattern

this is the 11am future radar, i can't see a threat beyond that patch moving in from the SW, should be gone well before 8 right?  The patch in Mississippi is likely to miss us...

  • Per DarkSky, for the physical address of Wrigley Field.

I don’t see Wrigley Field putting their employees to work in this.  Can’t really sell concessions with people jammed under the ballpark:

Considering the "experts" get it right about as often as pure chance would suggest, yeah, I suppose we are.

Hey man, it's just part of the hope and prediction. I welcome all predictions. If it rains cats we will not have a show but dogs we're all good. Lots and lots of dogs.

LOL. look everyone, there's a high chance of rain, with a partly sunny sky.  but it could be mostly cloudy instead of partly sunny. the chance for scattered clouds is 50%, and there is a chance of no scattered clouds. that all assumes it isn't mostly windy, but only partly windy (duh).  now, if you subtract 9, add 3, then we still end up with only a chance of having any idea of what will happen in 5 hrs.

This is the one I've been looking at, they seem to say it will rain from 11am to 3pm then it's scattered after that

  • 2013 we had a burst come through with a front behind it.
This is a cyclonic event. So if you look at the National Map in motion you’ll see the big twist like a cyclone. That atmospheric movement is drawing the warm gulf moisture upwards, and spinning it into our area, which was already disrupting due to pressure change.
Massive High pressure system pushing from the NW will sweep this system away as we head into tomorrow.
Tomorrow is going to be cooler & crisper as the Dew Point will be back in the upper 50’s with a sustained North wind.

Reading the NOAA forecast this morning, forecast sounds pretty favorable for the evening at Wrigley.
