Though Ed did give a lot of talks he didn't say vote for X or Y or really say anything that was controversial. I did like when he said election day should be a national holiday which I fully agree with. the one thing I DID notice between Settle 2 and there was when he was mentioning the things that need addressed (honelessness, planned parenthood) he mentioned stricter gun control laws in Seattle but didn't mention that in Montana. Which, with a state steeped in the outdoors and hunting, would not have went over as well. But overall it was a bit more preaching than I would have preferred but not what I would call political.91 - Ames Iowa CY Stephens Auditorium

Fact is, if not for the importance for Jeff and the band to give back to his home state. If it wasn't for the politics this show would not have even happened. Missoula doesn't exactly fit in with eh other cities on this tour. I don't get how people could be so ignorant to be surprised by the content of the show...and truthfully, Ed was quite restrained in his comments, we all know where they stand.
For me, to be part of a show like that added to my enjoyment of the show. I appreciate that my favourite bands, the Tragically Hip and Pearl Jam have never been afraid to take a stand and have taken their fame to build awareness for Indigenous, and homeless issues and now moving towards taking direct action.

Compared to others I saw in ‘18, missoula lacked something. Maybe the fact it became a shortened set when it was not advertised that way. Not sure. Shorter set with some amazing moments, don’t get me wrong. Such as fatal, not for you, down and even a rocking edition of Lightning Bolt. However I came in expecting a full PJ show and that wasn’t there. It could have been better, as in a longer show and with less covers and may I dare say, less Ed banter about politics. Before I get crucified, as mentioned, i was blessed in 2018 with multiple PJ shows and am in no way complaining. Any PJ show is amazing!

Personally I would have still bought a ticket regardless because I like "off the beaten path" venues and desperately wanted to go camping in Montana but others might have made different plans. Loved the show, still love the pit for the most part! Have to say, some people seem like they have OCD about being bumped or needing a certain amount of airspace, not sure GA is for them. I caught the entrance of the public GA, like a herd of people running right at us, priceless!!! I thought the energy was great! Loved hearing Jeff talk and see how clearly passionate he is about all the organizations he helps.

Shorter then seattle’s Two shows, yes. If it was my first time in 2018 seeing PJ i’d have no issue, well maybe I would have because I’d have seen Seattle got longer sets. My main question is, why? Benefit show that was originally NOT marketed that way. I’m in no way pissed about it, just observing as mentioned and it’s my own personal experience, which this fan review page is about. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Sometimes though I feel like I’m at a different concert than others who are commenting on the concerts I’ve seen. I was there.....on the back rail in the 10C GA. I had a blast from the outset. But then again I think they could play a set list of Britney Spears covers and I’d probably have a blast. I just have a love for these guys and the way they pour their absolute all into each and every performance (that I’ve been lucky enough to see at least).
On the political aspect, I am another Canadian. I understood well before we went that this was a ‘get out and vote’ event, and given the crazy political environment the US is in right now anyone who didn’t think there would be some passionate political thoughts expressed must be new fans who don’t really understand the band or their history, and have certainly never read many, if any, of the lylrics of many of their songs.
As a side note, I’m now REALLY happy to have decided to pick up a poster at the last minute rather than trying to find one on eBay after the concert ;-)0 -

I agree eveyone is entitled to an opinion. I'm more of a glass is half full kind of guy and another Canadian to boot. What I love about every Pearl Jam show I've seen is the feeling I get being there, singing along with thousands of other people is something I can\t get anywhere else. I don't go to shows with any expectations and what this group does for their fans and communities is unmatched as far as i know with other rock bands. I'm grateful for whatever I receive from the band as well as the 10c for getting me tickets. All 3 shows have been drastically different so far and I've loved every one, just sad that I'm done for this tour. As for the political stuff, as a Canadian I'll keep my political opinions to myself out of respect and love to my southerly neighbours (yes the u belongs there) but I think it's great these guys care enough to try to make a positive change. The Seattle shows have changed me in regards to homelessness and how i view it. It's also inspired me to try to make a difference. Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of the tour0

It’s not the politics. It’s the boring. Rule number 1 of any rock show is don’t be boring. This was the first of more then 40 where I was slightly bored. No dragon energy. Was it because of Rock2Vote? I don’t know...my gut tells me that once it became a “benefit concert” it changed the vibe.
