“Friendly reminder: Straight white men in America are not persecuted, marginalized, or victimized. They are not an oppressed group.”

But they feel themselves to be, because any drop in privilege from pretty much absolute to somewhat less is intolerable.
Convincing white Americans that they’re victims has been a key to Trump’s political success.

So this guy in New Mexico was MS13, right? I’ve been led to believe they are much more of a threat to me than white male Americans. There’s absolutely no evidence to support that claim, but plenty of white Americans desperate for victimhood believe it regardless.

He was ms-13?  I hadn’t heard that, have a link by chance?  I’ve read plenty of articles stating that he was a Muslim extremist with family ties to the terrorist attacks in the 90s in NYC, though.

I was being facetious. The man likely has as much personal connection to MS13 as he does the NRA. With that being said, do we know how he got the guns? According to his father, he is licensed to carry in 36 states (36 STATES!!!). Here’s the link for that info: https://www.wral.com/brooklyn-mosque-says-weapons-allegations-at-new-mexico-compound-are-false-narratives-/17758527/

Furthermore, the ringleaders’ father, an Iman at a NYC mosque, claims to be the one who who alerted authorities to the location of the New Mexico compound. While some outlets are accurately reporting that prosecutors once called the father an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the WTC bombing from ‘93, that same article I linked above offers more insight:

“Wahhaj’s father, also named Siraj Wahhaj, has for decades been the imam of Masjid at-Taqwa, which several people connected to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center either attended or visited around the time of the attack. During the investigation of the bombing, the elder Wahhaj was named on a list of several dozen potential conspirators in the plot, though he was never charged in the case and the list was later criticized for being overly broad, some former terrorism prosecutors said.
The elder Wahhaj has had a long career as a clergyman, traveling the world and delivering lectures on Islam, and even once gave a religious invocation in Congress.”

Based on this article, the family links to the WTC bombing are somewhat dubious. What other NYC terrorist attacks from the 90s has the family been linked to? This alleged WTC connection is the only one I’ve seen.

The ability to carry in 36 states sounds like an Utah concealed permit.  Anybody can get it.

You hit what I was referring to.  Sorry for not recognizing the MS-13 facetiousness.  There have been concerns of the cartels assisting terrorists in the past, so it wouldn’t surprise me, and that scenario is quite scary.

I think that's just a scare tactic and fun idea to play out in movie/TV land.
I don't think it's a real danger because I don't think the cartels are that dumb.
They are smart enough to know that terrorism is a trigger that gets the American killer beehive buzzing and swarming.  They know we love our drugs and we always will, and I think they know they don't want the heat that getting involved with zealot terrorists would bring.

Man at filthy New Mexico compound was training kids to commit school shootings, prosecutors say

Last Updated Aug 8, 2018 6:59 PM EDT

TAOS, N.M. — The father of a missing 4-year-old Georgia boy was training children at a filthy New Mexico compound to commit school shootings, prosecutors alleged in court documents Wednesday. The documents say Siraj Ibn Wahhaj was conducting weapons training with “assault rifles” at the compound near the Colorado border that was raided by authorities Friday.

click link for remainder of story...
This headline is inaccurate. If you read the article, it literally says the prosecutors didn’t bring up the allegations regarding training for school shootings:
“Prosecutors did not bring up the school shooting accusation during initial court hearings Wednesday for the abuse suspects... In the court documents, authorities said a foster parent of one of the 11 children removed from the compound had told authorities the child had been trained to use an assault rifle in preparation for a school shooting.”

According to the public defender, there may be some credibility issues with that source:

“Aleks Kostich of the Taos County Public Defender's Office questioned the new accusation of a school shooting conspiracy against by Wahhaj, saying the claim was presented with little information beyond the explanation that it came from a foster parent. Kostich believes prosecutors are not certain about the credibility of the foster parent, whom he has no way of reaching to verify the claim, he said.”

Of course, the public defender would say that, but I think it’s worth noting that the only source of the school shooting angle to this story isn’t one of the authorities & it was not brought up by prosecutors in the initial hearings.

Of course, the public defender would say that, but I think it’s worth noting that the only source of the school shooting angle to this story isn’t one of the authorities & it was not brought up by prosecutors in the initial hearings.

    Facts are of no relevance.
For CBS when creating headlines for clickbait?
No, for a certain poster positing “theories.”
Maybe he was reading it on CNN?:
“• They argue that if the suspects were to be released, there is a substantial likelihood the defendants may commit new crimes due to their planning and preparation for school shootings.“
    https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/09/us/new-mexico-compound-children/index.html
Still just an allegation made by a foster parent. They weren’t charged with any terrorism related charges. But then again, school shootings arent considered acts of terrorism.

Well, I can see how the misleading headline from CNN,

“Children found in New Mexico compound were training for school shootings, prosecutors say”

could lead someone to think that...
At least Unsung wasn’t saying something stupid like “I bet they were Trump voters” or something similar, lol

    Or this:  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6053831/Muslim-extremist-ringleader-New-Mexico-compound-tested-positive-explosives-2004.html

The Muslim man arrested in a New Mexico compound along with four other adults and 11 children last week once allegedly tested positive for an explosive residual substance before a flight to Saudi Arabia three years after 9/11 - but was never detained.

Siraj Wahhaj Jr is the man who was allegedly armed while holding the group of starving children in a ramshackle site out in the New Mexico desert before Taos County sheriff’s deputies raided the compound and arrested him.

Wahhaj, who was wanted by authorities after his disabled three-year-old son, Abdul Ghani, was reported missing in Georgia, was allegedly training children to commit school shootings.

I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

Maybe CNN should practice some journalistic integrity?  Why even mention something speculative if there is no credible proof of such claims?
