Whether or not this "walk away" hashtag thing on social media is a Russian scheme or not, there are actual people out there who are having trouble with the present day, mainstream "liberalism" - if you want to call it that. And the identity politics thing is a big part of it. Now it doesn't mean that they are running into the open, grabby arms of the president and his camp, necessarily.. but it's just a continuation of the trend of folks bailing on both parties, which has been going on for a while. Bernie and Trump support in 2016 is clear evidence of that.
