to me its anyone who calls you a Nazi, KKK etc for offering a slightly contradictory viewpoint to the Left mindset.  There are whole groups on Facebook infested with these people.  That's right, I said infested.
There's not a "slightly contradictory viewpoint" going on here. It's a radical change of this country's established system and laws. To get there, the GOP needed to co-opt racists, religious zealots, and the anti-science idiots.  If someone truly only has a "slightly contradictory viewpoint," then it's incumbent upon them to realize the above, distance themselves, call the above groups out as not sharing your values, and send these groups back to the dark corners of the internet and the ass backwards towns they came from.  I'm not seeing any of that from the political right. You either have a problem with your party, that no longer represents your political and social views, or you're ok with it.  If someone leaning right in their views is sick of bring called a Nazi, racists, KKK, etc.....maybe it's time to stop voting in line with them.
"I ain't no Democrat, but sure as hell ain't no fuckin Republican either"

Those that refuse to vote democrat this year for Congress are pertpetuating the Trumpian deathgrip on democracy.
    don't worry, i ain't stupid.

Good article. It’s a way white supremacists have piggy backed blind hatred of the left and mainstreamed their message.

By trying to create the idea of a just-as-radical side on the left, it lends credence to his argument that there is blame on “both sides” for the violence that erupted in Charlottesville. Also, it’s an easy way to charge up supporters.”

I thought AINTFA was the alt-left?
Could be, though I thought "AINTFA" stands for "Ain't we fuckin' awful".

I'm not opposed to radical notions or protest groups in general or sabotage or civil disobedience, etc., but when I think about a group like Antifa that practices extreme hate and violence... well, then I think of John Lennon's words:

But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out

I'm not down with Antifa either, but it does seem like we have a few here on this board....no names.  And John Lennon was a wife beater, so maybe his words are a bit hypocritical?
Sadly, I have heard that about Lennon.  I was thinking about the song more than the man.

Whoa, you really think there are Antifa members here?  I would hope not.

I was thinking about the words "sabotage" and "terrorism" recently while reading Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild .  As much as I'm a Krakauer fan, there's point in that  book at which (I should have noted where) where Jon makes an EGREGIOUS error by referring to Edward Abbey's The Monkey Wrench Gang being a book about a gang of "eco-terrorists".  NO, GODDAMN IT JON, THEY ARE  NOT TERRORISTS, THEY ARE SABOTEURS!  Abbey knew the difference and there is a major difference between the two.  Saboteurs do damage to, or destroy property.  Terrorists do harm to, or kill people.  BIG DIFFERENCE!

Most Antifa are not saboteurs, they are terrorists.

I’m not even sure how well organized it is. But now the right wingers who hate liberals label any counter demonstrators to white sumpremacist rallies as antifa. Which is a crafty manipulation by the right where they end up supporting white supremacists by validating their message.

Not that I know of, but they are known to willingly physically attack anyone who does not go along with their agenda.   That is much closer to terrorism than putting sand in the crankcase of a bulldozer or pulling up survey stakes on a proposed road through wilderness.

Has antifa killed anyone? And I don’t support antifa.

I’m not even sure how well organized it is. But now the right wingers who hate liberals label any counter demonstrators to white sumpremacist rallies as antifa. Which is a crafty manipulation by the right where they end up supporting white supremacists by validating their message.

Is that much different than the rhetoric of labeling anyone who is choosing to continue their support of conservatives as a racist, Nazi loving white supremacist?
It’s a lot different. There is no representative of ‘antifa’ in a significant position of leadership formulating laws and policy. You do have self-proclaimed nazis and white supremacists running for office, though. We had Steve Bannon in the white house who had the goal of infiltrating an alt-right message on the back of liberal hate and he has been successful. Slimeball Stephen Miller is still there, creating policy to stir racist sentiment.

have you heard a peep from republicans about this? I haven’t. If we need evidence of racism integrated into politics, we’ll look at how many votes the nazis receive this fall.

There's so much truth in this it leads me to wonder why everyone doesn't at least think like a liberal (I don't like labels, but I know which way I think!)

And yes, OK, I don't mind being called a liberal!

Meh, I get called Antifa online by the far right for opposing their racism.

Not heard the term. Racist, rightwingers trying to make the term happen to remove the POS-cloud hanging over themselves and their own racist opinions?
    Basically.

That’s what it stands for. Due to the habitul whattaboutism from trump supporters when he’s criticized, violence that broke out during counter demonstarations (which has always happened) was pinned on antifa. Therefore antifa = neo-nazis (an actual domestic terrorist group). Apparently antifa is now more of a threat than white supremacists.
