When I said he was a fraud it wasn't because he has a cabin, it is because he doesn't know basic econ.

Jesus do we have to start hearing about this clown already?
What is wrong about his "basic econ"?

Nobody claims they are free in the way you mean it.
That just makes a convenient talking point to rebut.

Bernie, and everyone else with a brain, understands that "free" means without immediate cost to the beneficiary.

"There's no such thing as a free lunch" is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Of course.  That's what every functioning and strong society does.  Point me to an example of a decent case that proves otherwise.
It's incontrovertible that America's strongest periods coincide with high marginal tax rates.

What is it that he proposes that other western nations have not been able to do and figure out?

Do you believe we over here also "do not know basic econ"?

How do you think Europe works? By some kind of magic?

    It works.
You are still welcome (3 years or so running now) to provide an example that there's a better answer.

Except the entire expansion of the country was based on government subsidies. There is no such thing as a free market. Has never existed anywhere ever.

In 2016 I saw people around the world wearing Bernie shirts, while not seeing any Trump/Clinton ones.
If he got any of that money he deserves all his wealth.

Plus if he has this 'undeserved' wealth, all he needs to do is squeeze in a few bankruptcies and he can run for the R ticket and win easy!

I am generally not comfortable with people having what I think of as obscene amounts of money, so much money that they can't possible spend it all if they went shopping all day.  On the other hand, if a multi-billionaire used their money, influence and power to find a way to do one or more of the following: clean the plastic out of the oceans, slow the unnatural rate of species decline, clean up the air and water, end global warming, resolve homeless issues, end hunger, end racism, end endless war, then yes, I would be most grateful for that person having all that money.  Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, I'm told, do a pretty good job trying.  I wouldn't mind seeing a lot more of that.
