    Seriously, who the fuck says "happy Memorial Day"???? I've actually had conversations about how inappropriate it would be to say "happy Remembrance Day" (Canada's Memorial Day), like as a joke - a tasteless joke .... I've actually had a laugh with others over how weird that is to say. But the fucking POTUS just blasts it out there on Twitter without even thinking about it. SMH!!!

    No shit!  Like, are we supposed be be happy because millions of young men and women died in (mostly) needless and useless wars.  What kind of sick fuck says "Happy Memorial Day" without at least correcting himself?  I've only heard that said once and the guy caught himself and said, "That came out wrong!  I mean, Best wishes on memorial day". 

    Has Trump corrected himself on this egregious error not fit for a man who calls himself "President of the United States of America"?

    ^ Good point. I just realized I mistakenly said “Happy Memorial Day WEEKEND” in the craft beer thread. It was intended to mean have a nice long weekend with family and friends, but obviously there is nothing “happy” about the actual day or what it signifies.  Poor word choice by me.

    I often say "have a great Memorial Day weekend" because I think of family get togethers, going in the pool, bbq's and of course because it is the unofficial start of summer (pay to get on the beach! lol).

    Exactly.  “Have a great” and “happy” are not interchangeable, but these are my thoughts exactly. At the same point, for us to say it in that context is different from the literal meaning of the day coming from the POTUS. He’s an idiot.

But the more I thought, I’m sure the soldiers would be happy that their sacrifices lead to family and friends getting together and spending quality time. So even if it’s probabky not the original intention, it probably isn’t so bad.

    Agreed... although I wonder if they think they fought for 4% GDP growth and unemployment at about the same.   Trump thinks so.

    Lol. It's not really that it surprises me he thinks it or anything. What stuns me over and over again is that he doesn't filter it for appearance's sake, or that someone isn't monitoring every Tweet and stopping all the idiotic ones from getting sent. Surely Trump is aware by now that many of his tweets are damaging to him.... but he  just doesn't care. That's the weird part.
