True, the bands sound is fairly derivative, but they admit it to some degree and do it because they dig it. I like their energy and sound. And I think they have the chops to develop a unique sound. And it's cool to see millennials rocking out!

Tickets here with fees were about $60. I skipped it.
I just got into them last month and I can't stop listening to them. I read they are making a new album, I can't wait for that. Hopefully they'll visit Australia soon.
derivative, but someone’s gotta carry the torch of straight ahead R&R.

Great show last night. I just love their guitar player. The way he rocks back and forth when playing just gets me so excited, lol. He also played a little bit with his guitar behind his head, which is always entertaining. Just crazy how popular they are and they havent even released a regular studio album yet. There is obviously a real hunger for, as wobbie stated, straight ahead rock and roll. I would say the crowd was a mix of younger and older fans. Anyway, look forward to see whats to come in the future and wishing them all the best. I had heard their first album will be out in July.
There was a rumor kid rock was gonna be there and play with them. Thank god that didnt come to furition. Im still hungover, think ill go to bed now. Peace.
Nothing ground breaking but still, pretty good hard rockin' rock and roll.
I just saw this song posted on another forum and a bunch of people were bashing this band. That really bugs me. I'm thinking, Good Lord, who tied you to a chair and made you listen to something you don't like? You have nothing better to do than bash something that doesn't appeal to you? I find that kind of criticism toward music particularly weak.
Glad to see a young band keeping rock and roll going.

My wife and I are going to see GVF tonight in Pittsburgh. They feel like a breath of fresh air in regard to playing blues & classic rock inspired music. Many consider them to be derivative but I think it’s great that a young band is playing this style of music. That being said, I’m interested to see what the age demographics will be in the crowd they draw tonight
Just watched the video from the Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon, they played the new single. Shit is tight IMO. Loved it. I actually enjoy the song better now having watched them do it live.
I watched their performance this morning... it seemed like the singer's voice was lost in the mix. Still enjoyed them and glad they got to be on Fallon.
Is it over yet? #ITMFA #ETTD

I hadn't seen that until just now and I had to watch it twice- it's that damn good. Fantastic! I've read elsewhere several really harsh put-downs on this band- people saying things like "Oh, they're just corporate rock", or, "they rip off other players riffs" and the oh-so-frequent complaint about how they "sound like Led Zeppelin".
So wait, they're "corporate" because they played on Fallon? Oh shit, so now I have to throw away all my Neil Young, Dinosaur Jr and God knows what other albums? As long as I like the music, I'll live with some corporate ties before I stop listening to music I like. I wish all good bands could get support.
Rips of others' riffs? Doesn't everybody, to some extent?
OK, so the kid sounds like Robert Plant. When he was younger, J Mascis sometimes sounded a bit like Neil Young, especially on the song "Not the Same" but I love that song. No problem!
Yeah, I thought that performance rocked great!

Saw them at Shaky Knees. Definitely a good sound and unique compared to most other rock bands touring today.
The retro zeppelin sound will probably only go so far, so they'll definitely have to take that sound somewhere new to stick around. Talented for sure though and crazy that three are siblings!

Good point. My guess/hope is that will happen. They grew up on the music their folks listened to which was far more broad than Zep only. The diverse influences alone may well make a difference. Seeing them on Fallon somewhat convinced me of that. Little subtle things like that fiery little burst of high notes from the guitar toward the end of the instrumental break- that was different to my ears. The drummer's drive is picking up. The bass player has great attack. The singer is becoming more animated and confident.
Who knows, they may get stuck in their current (and to my ears, respectable enough) groove, but they have the potential to developed a lot further. Record labels used to give bands a lot of space to spread their wings. Criminy, look at the Rolling Stones between their first self-titled album in 1964 and Sticky Fingers in 1971. Damn! I would love just for once to see a label and the band's management give a band like GVF that kind of stretching room. It doesn't happen much and it's one of the big reasons not as much happens in music these days. Here today, the cut out bin tomorrow.
I hope for good things for these guys.

Anyone interested in seeing them at the Vic tomorrow night? I have a pair that I cannot use now due to work. $200 for the pair which is what I paid secondary market after I missed day of sale. These are hard tickets and would have to be picked up in NWI.

Absolutely love everything I've heard from these guys. Amazing stuff. I hope the kid takes good care of his voice and has vocal coach. Sometimes I hear those live screams and it scares me for his longevity.
