It definitely takes some getting used-to. But I dig pretty much anything coming out of Australia so much more than the US these days. Much more upbeat, overall more fun, and it isn't all about gettin' paid n' gettin' laid. There's actual substance.Thoughts_Arrive said:

Kendrick receives a Pulitzer.
J Cole had a listening party yesterday. Look for his album to drop on 4/20.0 -
This has been out for a while but it sits well with me.

Funny you mention that. That is actually THE song that first got me in to checking out Aussie artists. It was in a BMX video a buddy of mine had featuring fellow Aussie flatlander Simon O'Brien. But yeah, I like the Hoods quite a bit.Thoughts_Arrive said:

I'd have to say Illy is easily my favorite. Some others I get into are 360, Drapht, Bliss N Eso, Horrorshow, Thundamentals, and perhaps more R&B than hip-hip but Daniel Merriweather is great, too.

I'm gonna have to re-examine Kendrick Lamar. I tried to get into him last summer at the advice of a couple friends, but it just didn't do much for me. I do recall his performance at the CFP National Championship was pretty decent though so I may have to give another go.tempo_n_groove said:

Never been a fan of Jay-Z. Although he did work on the only decent Coldplay song since X&Y.
