Any advice on where to stay?  I have never been to Boston...I just need a relatively easy path from hotel to Fenway.  Any help appreciated.

Actually there are more hotels available then when I checked the other day....I booked the Holiday Inn Brookline, one of the better ones available and appears to be about a 20 minute walk to Fenway

If you want to save money check out Airbnb or VRBO.  Prices can be HALF as much as hotels.

  • I got an AirBNB (tiny apartment in Beacon Hill) for $550US for 3 nights.  Can walk to Fenway in 30 mins or take cheap Uber, Lyft or Fasten (there are 3 car sharing apps in Boston, Fasten is local to Boston).  Worked out to $688 CDN for me.  My wife couldn't believe how expensive it was but I told her this is cheap compared to most Boston hotels.  So expensive i decided to come in on Sunday morning rather than Saturday.  Will have all day Monday to explore Boston.

That's where i stayed in 2016 and it was an excellent location. I think it was about a 15 minute walk to Fenway, and tons of stuff to see in the area (steps to Boston Commons/the Public Garden, Newbury, etc.). I don't know the city well at all, but I had a great experience.

anyone have suggestions on staying at either Revere Hotel Boston or Copley Square hotel? First timer to Boston and staying 4 nights to explore the city.

Cambridge is definitely nice in general but you'd have to be more specific. For me it would also depend on how you plan to get to/from the show. If you want to be able to take the train then Cambrige isn't as convenient just because it would involve taking the red line into town then switching to the green to go out to Fenway. If you plan on getting an uber or something that doesn't matter as much though.

I booked 4 nights at Abigayle's Bed and Breakfast through bnbboston.com.

Very near to Kenmore Station and Fenway Park, a 5 minutes walk.

175 US Dollars in a double room per night, very good breakfast included. Good Tripadvisor feedback.

You can only book it through bnbboston.com- and they still have vacancy for early September!

  • I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Newton for '16 Fenway II and it was very reasonably priced (about $140), but Labor Day week will likely have a bigger price tag .  There was a bus line that went right to Fenway just across the street and also across the street is Buff's Pub which has awesome wings

We are booked at the Copley Square Hotel......the basic rooms seem to be a bit on the smaller side, per the reviews I have read.

We got a good rate on Getaroom.com

Anyone know if Longwood is a decent neighborhood to stay (if it’s even a neighborhood)? I just want to be a short Uber ride to Fenway, restaurants, bars, etc. And a safe neighborhood of course.

Longwood is a good place to say    it's basically a medical campus with all the hospitals in area.  It's right around the corner from Fenway with tons of shops, bars and restaurants..

Like the other user said, it's basically a medical campus area and a couple colleges. Not much interesting stuff right there but you're pretty close to Fenway at least. I'd say it's a good place to stay for the show if the price is good, it's just not as cool of an area to stay as Back Bay or Brookline IMO

^ Thanks for this tip as well. I do want a value price but at the same point I want to be somewhat “in the thick of things,” so to speak, as far as what the city has to offer. I’ll look for some options in the two areas you mentioned as well. It might be worth paying the premium.

Just booked the Westin Copley Place in Back Bay. When bundled with a flight through Expedia the price was very reasonable (relatively speaking), and I’ve always have good experiences at Westin.

Don't know anything about the hotel in particular but you'll love the location. A quick 2 stops on the T or 30 min or so walk to Fenway and in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Boston. Have fun! Check out the skywalk observatory in the Prudential Center and do the audio tour. It's a great way to see/learn about the city from 50 floors up.

^ Thanks for the tips! I’m glad to hear it’s a great location and a 30 minute walk to the shows doesn’t sound bad at all. I’m looking forward to checking out Boston for the first time! Is it September yet? ;)
