Anyone know if Longwood is a decent neighborhood to stay (if it’s even a neighborhood)? I just want to be a short Uber ride to Fenway, restaurants, bars, etc. And a safe neighborhood of course.
Longwood is a good place to say    it's basically a medical campus with all the hospitals in area.  It's right around the corner from Fenway with tons of shops, bars and restaurants..

Like the other user said, it's basically a medical campus area and a couple colleges. Not much interesting stuff right there but you're pretty close to Fenway at least. I'd say it's a good place to stay for the show if the price is good, it's just not as cool of an area to stay as Back Bay or Brookline IMO

^ Thanks for this tip as well. I do want a value price but at the same point I want to be somewhat “in the thick of things,” so to speak, as far as what the city has to offer. I’ll look for some options in the two areas you mentioned as well. It might be worth paying the premium.

Just booked the Westin Copley Place in Back Bay. When bundled with a flight through Expedia the price was very reasonable (relatively speaking), and I’ve always have good experiences at Westin.

Don't know anything about the hotel in particular but you'll love the location. A quick 2 stops on the T or 30 min or so walk to Fenway and in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Boston. Have fun! Check out the skywalk observatory in the Prudential Center and do the audio tour. It's a great way to see/learn about the city from 50 floors up.

^ Thanks for the tips! I’m glad to hear it’s a great location and a 30 minute walk to the shows doesn’t sound bad at all. I’m looking forward to checking out Boston for the first time! Is it September yet? ;)
