    hannity went on a rant about "fake news NYT having no corroborating evidence that trump wanted mueller fired". then a mere few minutes later, their own sources confirmed it, and he changed his tune to "so what, that's his right" and moved on to something else.

Executive editor is typically the head editor in charge of the different editors of the different departments, also called the Editor in Chief. And the Editor in Chief typically reflects, or in fact guides, the opinions and values of a media organization, as I understand it.
