What would be considered an average ticket price or good ticket price in the US?

Welcome to an industry where people no longer pay for recorded music.
    Very fair point.

What costs the same now as it did in 94?
Good point. But comparing directly to 2016 at Wrigley it’s a 30% increase in 2 years. I’m still buying...but those are just the facts.

Yup. Solid point. I’m hoping the extra 30% from 2016 prices was used to obtain more Ten club tickets. Then we’ll worth it!

Ten Club tix for Seattle are $259 for a pair......$129.50 each ticket.

In 2016, I paid $188 for pairs at Fenway and MSG........$94 each ticket.

    That's a $35.50 increase in 2 years, or over 37%.  Wow!

I understand its not 1994 anymore, but I guess its also not 2016.

I realize it has nothing to do with 1994 but one has to admit that this is a big price jump from 2016.

I am shocked at these ticket prices. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford it but what happened to being reasonable enough every fan could attend? I'm disappointed in this. I know, I know, if I don't like it I can not go so you others have a better chance. But PJ taught me to stand for something or fall for anything and I can not keep my mouth shut about this. And don't give me this "well, it's for charity". These band members don't need to jack prices up to be able to afford to donate. And if fans are that fortunate they can donate on their own, not through inflated ticket prices. I used to brag about how PJ treats their fans...
Sorry, my earlier quote about PJ being like the late-era Rolling Stones was snide... but I do think it's fairly accurate.  They are in their 50's, and it's my guess they wouldn't mind capitalizing on their brand as much as they can while the getting is good.

What makes the band its money?  My guess is merchandise and touring.  Making albums doesn't.  It's obvious their album-making days have slowed to a slow drip, whether it's due to there being no money in it or lack of drive/creativity/etc.  As for touring, I understand the supply/demand argument, and have no issue with anybody/any band making as much as they can.  But like Sugar-Magnolia suggested, PJ said a lot of self-righteous stuff back in the day that falls horribly, horribly flat these days.  That's all.  It is what it is.  I can afford it.  But is it kind of a novelty at this point?

Reserved seats up close within good sections  (where I’d expect to be for Ten club reserved seats) for U2 were $250 each.  So this isn’t bad for fanclub seats.  Little bIt pricey, yes.  But some people pay $200+ to see professional sporting events.

Lets not forget the membership fee fanclub members pay in addition to the ticket price...a nominal fee be it, but another fee for a chance at tickets. Seems like this tour, if you can call it that, is about packing in as many fans into the least amount of shows. Cant say I blame them, work smarter not harder.

Oh, be patient.  They'll get there.  And PJ's released one more studio album than the 80-year old Stones in the past 13 years, so you got me there!

Nobody pays for music. Shouldn’t they make their money? Don’t buy tickets for resell or trade and enjoy the show.

Everything has gone up in price. Just trucking their equipment across town probably justifies the price increase.

Cripes, that's a bit more than I was expecting - especially since I may very well be attending these (Seattle) shows on my own.
I hope it's okay for me to ask this here but do you think if I got 10c tix that it would be relatively easy to get someone to take my second tickets (likely reserved seating) off my hands? I'd (obviously) ask for face value.

Makes the decision to only go to one venue this tour much easier.
No way I can afford a trip to either Chicago or Seattle as well as going to Boston.

Maybe this will indeed be the way to go. The few times I've tried for 10c tickets, I've gone for reserved to increase my chances of "getting in the door." Maybe I'll have to rethink things this time around.

How can you tell what the face is for Ten Club tickets?  All I see is $259 for the pair.

Regardless, its a 37% increase from Ten Club ticket prices from 2016.  I know for sure that my income hasn't increased by that much in the past two years.

But not every 10C seat will be up close. When they do limited engagements like this year more people travel to shows which pushes everyone back further and further from the stage. $130 for the last row on the field doesn't seem like a great deal
