My beautiful 1980's Yamaha Lord Player 4000. Bought it recently as I was looking for a Les Paul style guitar and found the perfect substitue to the real Gibson.  Sadly picture is crap quality, does not give justice to the guitar :D

Yeah, 335. Great deals on Gibson floor models going on at Chicago Music Exchange. Seriously, if you think you might want a Gibson in the near future its worth checking out. Got that for well under $2k.

Nice! The 00-version of that guitar will probably be my next one. Love mahogany acoustics.

    Congrats!

It's a DRS1. Love it. I sold an old Fender acoustic and took a big step up to the Martin. By Martin standards it was pretty cheap, but it sounds SO much better than my old Fender.

Nice 335 Dewie. I've really wanted one for quite some, time but they're hard as hell to find for a lefty in the used market at a decent price.

$750 isn't bad at all.  Some of those martin's are so damn expensive!  I'd love the d-15 but I just can't justify paying $1200 for a guitar.

62 reissue Jazz bass, MIJ Jaguar, first year they were released in US, 2010ish P Bass

Top to bottom: my odd ball guitars... 1980 Gretsch TK-300, 1975 Fender Bronco, 1982 Gibson Spirit I (made in Kalamazoo, originally a ephiphone. Relabeled Gibson, can still see original Ephi logo under the Gibson logo.

SG junior with odd ball pick guard. Never found out the story about that one, or any info actually.

1952 Gibson es-125. Was my grandpas.

Anybody on here ever play or own a Koa guitar?  I love the look of the wood and was wondering on the long term for them.

    Thanks

Acoustic or electric? Also, do you have a manufacturer in mind?

Some companies allow tone woods to age and dry properly before making guitars with it while others stick wood in a kiln to expedite the process. Whether a guitar will be stable for a lifetime depends on many factors but starting with improperly cured wood is potentially problematic down the road.

Martin, Taylor, Breedlove, and Collings are solid choices for acoustics. There are lots of others too but these four would be at the top of my list.

Gibson makes great acoustics too but they have been caught irresponsibly harvesting woods in recent years. Who knows what else they are playing fast and loose with these days.

    Good luck!

FWIW, I have never owned a Koa guitar but I have played several and repaired a few. I just picked one up today for repair but I don't know what it is or what's wrong with it yet.
