I would guess intentional. During the show EV thanked the Grateful Dead, who lent them some equipment, and supposedly left a bunch of joints on the stage.

Interesting..Hadn't heard that story before..
So here is the thing, they worked it out to borrow the stage setup, I am not sure it actually included the dead's equipment, and almost certainly the joint reference was an ad-lib because...Grateful Dead.

Vault 7 vinyl to be delivered by UPS Fri Dec 22 Rega planar 6 turntable to be delivered by Santa Dec 25 Good beer in the fridge and Blantons in the bar to be delivered to my mouth while listening to records after Dec 25 around noon...
I’m saving up for the Planar 6 right now! Going to use my tax refund to get it in early February.Think it’s going to cost $2200 with the Ania Cartridge
I take it the DJ is absent from this version of Soldier Field? I can't remember who that was and which source it comes from...was it Reverend Dave or a radio station DJ? How am I ever going to know how great the show is without him?

LOL! It was Reverend Dave, who was the Monkeywrench DJ, unfortunately he is cut. Also unfortunately the Wesley Willis line and a bit of other banter fall prey to side flips and such.
Overall it is definitely a step up from the boots of back in the day, but there is an apparent challenge in how they recorded and mixed sound for a venue of this size at the time. When you have 3 guitar songs, it can get muddy in his mix, but overall it is definitely a worthwhile recording to have. There are definitely subtler moments that are picked up on songs like Daughter, Immortality, Corduroy and Porch that are lost in the compressed and dense sound of the original mono FM sources and even those mixed with aud tapes.
Arrived in Michigan... played it through last night... fucking glorious.

Sweet!! My neighbor has the prior generation and told me to go with the exact cartridge, so I got that one. He said the Ania one wasn’t necessary and that I may eventually have more problems with that one down the road. Didn’t know which would be better, but went with his recommendation. Hope it was the correct decision.
My delivery date was changed from today to tomorrow.

I got the shipping notice on Friday (15th), and as of last night tracking still said it still wasn't picked up by UPS yet. I hadn't checked the status this morning but UPS just dropped it off!!! Checked tracking, and it says delivered. Must not have been scanned into the system last week when they picked it up. I know a lot of people were in that same situation, so you could be in for a pleasant surprise. Oh, and I live in Portland, OR area.

As an aside, I wish they went 4LPs and pressed the rest. I wouldn't care if its not the same quality.
