@alesek Thanks for all the info!

Really hoping to make this trip and that post just helped me out a lot. Hope the rumours are true and get to see this great city. I know it is early but quick question. As long as my flight is not delayed(always a risk) would it be ok if I arrived at 3:30pm day of the show. The hotel is minutes away from the venue. Just curious how long of a trip it is from the airport to the 02 when making all the different connections. Google says it is 1 hour taking the yellow RJ and then the 25. Is that fairly accurate? Thanks

Yeah, should be cca 1 hour... better to take the bus 119 to metro station Nadrazi Veleslavin and then metro line A and switch for line B at Můstek ...

But I guess you will make it for the pre-party the day earlier. Doubt that the 1st of July is the correct show date... ;)

Is the train from Prague to Berlin reliable? Travel by train isn't a feasible option here in the states.
  • alesekalesek Posts: 809
train is the best option. takes 4.5 hours, enjoy a beer on board and perhaps again meet Mike and his family on board too ... :)

Train is most definitely the best way to go. I generally use www.cd.cz to get my tickets.
And...I met Mike's parents on the way back to Prague from Berlin last time @alesek, you guys shouldn't have slept in  =)

Thanks!  If the rumored tour dates are somewhat accurate, Prague and Berlin will probably be my 2 stops.  Both cities train stations are downtown which is great.  I'd prefer to take a train since I've never been on one (subways not withstanding).

Jeremy, I headed north to Stockholm, you remember? So yeah, I missed your singing Happy Birthday to Mike's mum on the train... :)

Obviously a train from Prague to Krakow would be best option too. Roads will be packed during the first week of July in Czech Rep. as school holidays starting together with 2 days of national holidays.

Ya I checked that out and looks super cheap too. Random question but what is security like when you cross over from country to country. I will not be traveling with anything to be worried about just wondering if it like an airport and long wait times through security.
  • alesekalesek Posts: 809
Krakow - Prague or other way round (god knows how it would really be...), always best by train - cca 6-7 hours with that stop in Ostrava. There might be a direct flight too with Wizzair but we gotta wait for the summer flight schedule to be release yet.

Travelling through Europe is easy. No borders. Random checks maybe.

How economical would it be to rent a small car one way from Prague to Krakow?

  • So presuming the dates are correct...if you wanted to do all of the Italy shows, Krakow, Prague & Berlin you could be looking at trains as your mode of transport? The exception been flights from/to your original destination and a flight from Rome to Krakow? Looks interesting.

They will nail you on the one-way drop-off fee. Probably around $200/250

If you are interested in sharing the ride with a fellow Canadian, I'd be willing to go by car.

The recent tweet is also interesting.  The dates that someone threw out show a gap between Rome and Prague.  Did we get a confirmation that Hungary wasn't getting a show?

Trains are awesome in Europe.  Much rather do train than drive. Great way to see the countryside while relaxing with a beverage.

unless you want to stop at different places on the way train is the way to go.  Train stations are in the heart of the cities.

Do the summer prices vary quite a bit from the winter prices with the train and airplane? Seems like it is only 15 euros and a 6 and half hour train ride. From Prague to Krakow. Crazy cheap if you ask me.
