Do the summer prices vary quite a bit from the winter prices with the train and airplane? Seems like it is only 15 euros and a 6 and half hour train ride. From Prague to Krakow. Crazy cheap if you ask me.
What site are you using? I've been checking RailEurope.com

Ok folks, I mentioned it earlier ....use http://www.cd.cz/ for your train tickets from Prague to Krakow, yes it's seriously that cheap. Or alternatively look at http://www.goeuro.com/.

Ya goeuro is what I was looking at. Do you happen to know when the summer airfare and trainfares get posted?

I believe they are usually 90 days out so we've got some time yet.

So we can take the dates that are flying around as true? Prague July 1st and Krakow July 3rd?
Trip by train is around 6 hours, by car you really will be traffic dependent around this time of year as Ales mentioned. Beer in Prague will run you about $1.25 and I have no clue about Krakow.

Thanks!
Beats Sweden, cheapest in my town is $4, and normal price is like $6
6 hours is manageable.

If one is driving from Prague to Krakow overnight are there service stations open 24/7 along the way? Proper rest stops?

Its heart of Europe, man... Highway all the way basically. Six hours drive if things go well. Overnight should be better but quite tiring (plenty of work on the road on the D1).
Found a direct train, 7 hours journey. departure Prague 10.22 - Krakow 17.33 ...

Would be nice when these dates are decided to all book the train together and get the same car. Would be a fun ride if we had the whole section to us.

Its definately gonna end up that way (as it did few times before.. Prague-Berlin, Dublin-Belfast...). There might be even a direct flight with Wizzair...

I was serious earlier. If you are interested in splitting the drive and car costs, let me know. I just checked estimate, and fees for one-way are ~150% of rental fee on the one site I checked. I'm sure there are options.

To each his own but after drop off fee, gas, rental fee, risk of accident, tolls (not sure if there are any) why would you rent a vehicle? Trains would cost 15 Euros each. You would spend more on gas alone then the price of the train for 4 people.
You would get the freedom of leaving when you want and possibly getting away with not booking a hotel if you shared the drive but not sure if that would be worth it imo.
Where is everyone thinking of staying in Prague? I got a good deal on a hotel called U Dvou Zlatych Klicu
You're in a solid part of town and the metro close by will take you right to the doorstep of O2
Ive reserved a hotel near the venue i take it i wont need to stay there then be better off in town ? Got another reserved in Prague 2 ?
Depends on what your plans are aside from the show. The area around O2 doesn't have much going on aside from a shopping mall. Transport around Prague is VERY easy and there's both the metro and tram stops right outside the venue. If I had my choice? Move on to P2.

Ah man. I love Praha. Probably won't be able to get to Europe for this tour but can't wait for it anyway.
