finally our first win.  Ben Simmons with his first triple double
The 2nd coming of Magic Johnson. If this guy develops an outside shot look out.

That's the first time someone has recorded a triple double in his first four games since 1967.

Good thing they hired Colangelo to make our front office appear more respected. This front office would screw up a lap dance.
    Alright, alright, alright!

Fultz to miss at least 3 games with shoulder injury

Philadelphia 76ers rookie point guard Markelle Fultz will miss at least the next three games due to a right shoulder injury, the team announced.

He will be re-evaluated next Tuesday.

The injury has already necessitated a cortisone shot, and has wrought havoc on Fultz's shooting mechanics. The No. 1 pick in this year's draft is averaging six points and shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free-throw line through his first four NBA games. He's yet to attempt a 3-point shot.

While many, including Sixers head coach Brett Brown, have speculated that Fultz's injury forced him to alter his shooting motion, general manager Bryan Colangelo suggested on Wednesday that the opposite may be true.

According to The Athletic's Derek Bodner, Colangelo said Fultz's decision to rework his shot may have been what caused the injury, rather than the other way around.

Whatever the reason, a bit of rest and rehab figures to do the struggling rookie some good.

"I think it's appropriate to take a step back," Colangelo said, according to NBC's Jessica Camerato. "Let him take a breath, get him healthy and ready to resume play, hopefully next week."

Good. Let him sit for however long it takes to get his shot back. Pretend it's the shoulder all you want...

Why did they play Fultz at all if he was injured?  Did they hire the trainer that the Mets just finally fired?

Good question...however I think they are using the shoulder thing as an excuse for his real probably being between his ears...

Brutal. Goaltending on Jo was bullshit. Too many turnovers for Ben. Should've gone to Jo on our last possession and TJ should've been in instead of Bayless for defense for the Rockets last possession.

Can't wait till Richaun comes back. Amir Johnson is getting way too many minutes. Should just be playing Jah instead of him right now anyway....

Most who watched him in college disagree with your assessment and know that what he's going through right now is bewildering to say the least and not, in any way shape or form, in line with how he looked even in Summer League, let alone college.

But, agreed that you're not a professional talent evaluator!

That's the thing though.... what problem between his ears? I don't get this - the guy is 19 years old, has played all of, what, 3 games? And the expectation was to have him come off the bench. They're not playing for a title this year. So the yips don't make sense to me.

No one just changes their shot, especially to something as grotesque as he's been going out there and jacking up. The guy had a fine jumper, a nice smooth shot from the perimeter. Now he looks like some white dude out of the 1920's throwing a medicine ball into a peach basket with that garbage. My feeling is that both the Sixers and Fultz have fucked up a situation in handling an injury - either because the Sixers made little of it originally, or Fultz didn't tell them until well after the fact. I just don't get it. Talk about a completely unnecessary situation.

That's what I'm saying. This guy's got the yips? He needed to change his shot?

I'm not denying that his shoulder is messed up....but I think they're exaggerating the severity to cover up whatever the hell else is wrong with him that they can't figure out. His agent says he can't life his arm over his shoulder--there's plenty of footage of him during games and practice doing that without any noticeable pain. There's footage of him lifting and working out at their practice facility without any noticeable pain. I think he got some horrendous advice from someone or some people after he got hurt in summer league to adjust his shot...he then may have hurt his shoulder a bit and that's been lingering......but I just think the shot thing turned into mental block for him at some point trying to get it back to where it was.

Maybe, maybe not. But I think the lingering issue you talk about is the issue here. It's like if you mess up your knee, or foot or whatever. You then try to compensate on the other leg, which makes everything worse.

Just put this guy on the DL and leave him there. It's funny that it comes off that, apparently, this front office is worried about what everyone thinks about another top pick being hurt. Yet, they had the patience to go through it before. RIP Hinkie.
