Seen Kung Fu Panda - average. Zohan looks pretty bad (imo). Definitely a video movie for us. Get Smart looks okay...but probably another video movie. Hopefully Hancock might have some cool special effects...

Dark Knight opens THursday....I think we're going opening night...Ooooo!!

It will be a bit sad I reckon. Leigh and I LOVED him in Brokeback Mountain -- his Ennis Delware role was one of the best performances ever. One of our favourite movies. He just started to let go and be REALLY good. Sad.

Man, I cried like a bitch at the end of that movie!!! Bit unusual with the gay scene and all, but very good performance...and Jake Gyllenhall is godfather to Matilda too :(

    Yeah not too bad.
Pop's funeral was held on Wednesday in Wales. Mum rang me yesterday to tell me how it went. Close to 500 people showed up which is pretty awesome.

Eating like shit is ok :) Alcomohol + shit food is a marriage made in heaven :D

Yeah, Leigh and I were a bit teary too. Most romantic love story I've ever seen. The gay scene went for 5 seconds -- I can't believe people I know won't watch Brokeback Mountain because of that one scene....which is nothing on half the lesbian scenes I'm forced to watch in movies that are nothing about lesbians....

i love these pot should be legalised people. they be funny. they can't think right cause they is stoners.

like i think its illegal in pretty much every country in the world.

but hey how can you make a tree illegal???? that is their main argument.

where's Ziggy when you need her????? :D

my main argument is hypocrisy. and im not a stoner.

either you make ALL mind altering substances illegal or you educate people into moderation. :)
    hear my name
    take a good look
    this could be the day
    hold my hand
    lie beside me

It's funny that when actors die their career seems to be analysed through 'rose tinted glasses'. Heath Ledger's career was full of shit movies. In fact I'd say his performances were 20% good and 80% shithouse.

Still a crying shame he died so young, but the fact is that even though Heath's role in The Dark Knight is said to be fabulous, I'm extremely put off from seeing this movie because 'Heath hype' has overshadowed the movie

I just loved him in Brokeback Mountain....I never mentioned his other movies. I only own Brokeback Mountain....others are okay. Suppose that's why he was nominated for an Oscar for his Ennis Delware role...because it was perfect.

But if he can do what he did in Brokeback Mountain to his Joker character (and I don't mean turn him gay :D), it's going to be awesome!

    Gay Joker?? :D

I wasn't aiming my view at anybody in particular, it just seems that the general consensus after his death was that he was an absolutely brilliant actor. Whoever came up with that notion obviously never watched his performances in Blackrock, A Knight's Tale, The Brothers Grimm, Casanova and Ned Kelly :)

Off the subject a little....but I am looking to get into Vinyl, and need to purchase a Record Player...can anyone give me any advice as to what I should be looking for and what is the general price of these?
    Brands? Styles?
Are the older style ones still good to use or am I better off trying to get something more modern?

Yeah....those performances were average. But when I watched Brokeback, I was SHOCKED at how good he was.....maybe he was holding back or something in previous films but he rocked in that movie. And just when he gets GOOD he dies.

A gay joker would be funny....he's really IN LOVE with Batman....and wants his babies! :D

I saw a Sony record player in JB Hi-Fi the other week for $110. That seems to be the standard price nowadays unless you want a kick arse DJ style one. If so then expect to pay 3-4 times that much :)

I think half his problem was that he would take near enough any role that came his way, bad or good, just to be noticed for any future movies that were more to his liking.

To be honest, the Joker has always been a bit 'camp' anyway :D
