It's the S&H that had me ordering the Anthology from Amazon.

I have to try and figure out another way to get it into Canada because the 10C S&H is a deal breaker.
FWIW, 10C doesn't care if you order it from Amazon. It doesn't hurt them financially or anything. There is no reason for you to buy exclusively from 10C when the item is being sold elsewhere, so if you can get cheaper shipping, just feel good about it.

If only Pearl Jam Vault vinyls were also sold @ Amazon Canada with free shipping for Amazon Prime members.

I just want to buy the download. Why do we have to wait for that? The Grateful Dead doesn't make everybody wait on the vinyl. Are they worried that people will cancel orders once they've heard it or something?

Because it's a pretty-order. Nothing will be released for several months. It seems like the desired release date is about 6 months out. They don't want to press 5,000 copies and only 2,000 sell, or have the opposite problem. So they preorder vinyl way in advance so they know exactly how many to press. They don't need a headcount of how many are interested for digital, so obviously no pre-order needed for that.  I don't see any indication that digital would be available today if it wasn't for the vinyl.

They may not care, but it clearly is financially better for 10c to buy from them. And as a business, I assume they'd care about that. They obviously profit far more when you pay full retail on 10c vs 70% of the retail price through a third party that makes a profit on that 70% (and 70% retail seems pretty typical for many items available on Amazon). So the business side of 10c has to care. Or they need a new business manager, and maybe they could lower our membership rates if they have better business practices then.

Even though I bitch and moan I am super excited for this!!  im hoping it will sound like a completely different show than the fm broadcasts we all know.... even though to
me the fm ones tend to sound pretty good as far as boots go.  Fingers crossed this is exceptional sounding!!

Hmm. Maybe. @Santos L. Halper , are you willing to tell us if 10C prefers that we buy everything directly? Just asking in case people would actually spend more money if you do, which would be nice for you, and I'm sure plenty of people would actually do that (I would personally spend as little as possible either way, lol).

I did feel good about it, in fact.

and if Vault releases were available through a reseller for less than 10C I'd buy it from the reseller.

which is what many of the posts are highlighting.

I'm just overly eager to hear this show sound as good as Atlanta, The Orpheum and D.C. 95... I just wish the cd got the same kind of packaging as the vinyl. I wouldn't mind paying extra for a deluxe treatment :D

I don't care what anyone prefers. I'd go the cheapest route. I don't see any reason not to.
but that's only an option for a few items available, seems nearly everything I purchase is 10c only. But I don't have a complaint with those prices (and if I did I just don't buy it). I think vault vinyl prices are fair compared to other sources. Only exception is shipping outside the US does seem ridicilous and would piss me off if I didn't live here. But I do, so it doesn't :)

I wasn't complaining about the prices, I was suggesting Deluxe Packaging for the Vault Series on cd, similar to what the vinyl gets.

That would be pretty awesome. I'm sure plenty of us would still buy both :bring_it:

so much for having the only "official" release of this show. http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=752

although it will be nice to have more of the songs on the Vault release
Completely worthless now.  I would be happy to take it off your hands!
It took me a long time track down a real one that was still sealed so I think I'll hang on to it.  Thanks for offering to help me thin out some of my more worthless records  =)
You do realize that they reprinted these and you may have one of those.  Only real way to tell is open it and see the record.  It's like owning a sealed "white backspacer" record.
I got the record from Vintage Vinyl so I am 99.99% sure its a legit copy.
