Truly awesome! Its always a good thing when you can give some money donation-wise, and get a fricken EV surfboard in return!!!

You should take a photo when you get it in the same pose as Ed and show us.

    Congrats again!!!

Hmmmmm....I don't think so somehow. Most people I know will think I've REALLY lost it, now :o Probably even some on here

I don't care though :D It's priceless to me and I was determined to get it, no matter what. I've been e-mailing them non-stop, organising shipping etc;.....I was that confident it was MINE :D LOL!

Yeah I read on the E-bay site "There wasn't a great market for it so now it's available to you! " How bloody rude.

Well I want to visit and so does Vita Brits. We'll turn up at your doorstep, push you out of the way and just demand to see the surf board. ;)

It's gonna have to be a VERY VERY dodgy Leb accountant. The question was asked by Andrew and myself whether the auctions at the Newie pre-show could be classed as a charitable donation thus making it tax deductible and the charity replied with a big fat NO because you were receiving goods in exchange for the money :(

How much did shipping cost you after? Hopefully cheaper than the $1100 you were quoted first of all

    That's what I told her :D

Just checked out the Defend Oahu Coalition website and it says that it's not a registered charity so all donations aren't tax deductible :(
At least you got the board though :)
  • OMG OMG OMG OMG YOU FUCKIN WON IT!!!!

    Thats awesome Kyl!! :D:D
Its the coolest thing ever!! Andy is super stoked for you too!!
And at a great price too! What a steal!

Yeah we don't really care about that.....being a tax deduction was an after thought.....WAY after we decided it was ours :D (or MINE ;) ) I'd just thought it would be a little bonus if we could, but didn't really expect that we'd be able to.
I'm just so happy that besides the fact I managed to win it (WAAAAY under the budget we'd set for it) but the money is going to great causes - makes it all the better :)

Still waiting to get a definite quote for shipping....UPS or USPS will be the way to go. FEDEX site said it's too large?? and DHL quoted US$1300  USPS were not even a quarter of that.

Oh and trust me....I'm VERY tempted to go pick it up......only problem is that it'd have to be a super quick trip, cuz I'd have to leave the kids with Mum and couldn't do that for long. Tis a long way to go for a weekend!

I'd be kicking my guy out of bed each night and sleeping with the surf board instead. ;)

I wonder if Ed's ever surfed naked on it? :p

If I was going to head over there.....I'd rather go for a proper holiday and take Glenn and (maybe ;) ) the kids.

NOW......if I had to pick it up from Ed's place........my flights would be booked :D and I'd be offering some more $$$ for some private lessons
  • what if they organised for Ed to be there to give it to you and thank you for donating..... Get on a fuckin Plane Girl!!
