Thanks for posting. Good version. Was the 3rd song I listened to today, after Say Hello 2 Heaven and Hunger Strike. Never got into SG but knew they were a great band. Watching the PJ20 DVD made me realize how Chris was as much the heart of the Seattle scene as anyone could be. Sorry to see him go so young.

There's a lot about this that's devastating, but to me, apart from the obvious (wife/kids/music), is the fact that a man who gave so much to so many millions of people died alone on a fucking bathroom floor in a hotel room. That's horrific no matter the cause.

They used to write a song for each other everyday. They have a lot of catching up to do.

I don't believe in heaven, but today I hope that some version of it exists, and that some lucky group of people are listening to one of the most beautiful duets of all-time. Goodbye Chris, tell Andy we all say hello.

So absolutely devastated...sending light and love to his family and friends
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

Just devastating news.. I am very grateful for the music and many experiences that have been gifted to us through his career. I have followed him closely, and had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and spending a little time with him. The music will always live on and the experiences will always be cherished.

Having dealt with the suicide of a close family member in the past, this stirs up all of those intense emotions of sadness, anger and all of the unanswered questions...suicide is such a devastating loss for the people left behind. My heart goes out to his wife and kids, band-mates and friends.

Chris we all loved you so much, I truly hope you have found peace.

Someone on one of those Hollywood shows just made a comment about all the Seattle lead singers being gone except Ed and made an I'm Still Alive joke...I wanted to reach through the television and punch him in the throat.  Going to be a tough day. I can't concentrate on anything.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I was at the show with my wife last night celebrating our 15 year anniversary.  We were 5th row and all seemed well.  Lots of shout outs to Detroit and he sounded / looked good.  Intense ending to the show with Slaves and Bulldozers and a tag of 'In My Time of Dying" by Zeppelin.

    So very sad....R.I.P. Chris

What a brutal and shocking loss of someone with such unique and immense talent.  I feel terrible for his family and friends.  And I feel terrible selfishly as a music fan.  Three bands have basically ended today.  I hope his family can find some peace somewhere along the line.  Hope Chris is rocking with Andy, Layne and Kurt right now.

Their last song last night, "Slaves and Bulldozers" with some of Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dying" in there starting at 6:36.

    "Meet me, Jesus, meet me
Meet me in the middle of the air
If my wings should fail me, Lord
    Meet me with another pair
Well, well, so I can die easy
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Jesus gonna make up my dying bed
    ...
And I promise, in my time of dying
    I ain't gonna cry
    I ain't gonna moan
All I need for you to do
    Is drag my body home"

First song I heard today was Seasons by Chris Cornell. He was most certainly one of the greatest to ever do it. An incredible talent that will never be forgotten.
  • Horrible, horrible news.  Prayers going out to his family and those who are very close to him.  Felling like crap but I can't even imagine how they are feeling...

This is really just gutting, I can't even really describe how deeply influential his music has been to me. What a tremendous loss.
