The one Cornell concert moment that always will stick out for me is when I saw him and his daughter Toni do redemption song at the Beacon Theater. His daughter nailed the song and throughout the song, she would look over at him almost like wow I'm singing with my dad, this is so cool. His daughter got a standing ovation, I don't think anyone was sitting or wasn't clapping.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
I don't think its that hard to see. It must be chaos for the band right now. And them not knowing all the details. And it being personal. Him being close to them, and really close to Matt etc.
I don't think they just want to put something up to put something up. Or prioritising it.
And they're probably trying to gather their thoughts, come to grips with this, get some kind of understanding... like we all are, like his family and friends are... when the time is right, we'll probably see a very moving, well-written, well-thought out, emotional tribute. I think it takes time to do all that. They could just put out something like "R.I.P.", similar to their peers, which is all good, but they probably want to do a little more than that.
Edit: just my $0.02, of course
I'm sure all of PJ are completely devastated. I feel heartbroken for all of them and everyone else who loved Chris.
Yeah definitely, and of course Ben, Matt and Kim, and their travelling crew, roadies, management... It's one thing to have been a fan in the audience less than an hour prior, and something completely different to have been part of the inner circle that last saw him. My sorrow is nothing compared to theirs.
Hopefully they all eventually find their peace, especially his young children
The shock and disbelief is overwhelming. What a sad loss. My husband and I have both shed tears for the loss of Chris today. Condolences to his family, loved ones, friends and fans. His poor children. His music touched so many. We have tickets to the Denver show on Monday...but today I woke up to a headline that said "Soundgarden Silenced". I can not and do not want to grasp the fact that we'll never get to hear his voice live again...tragic.

So glad I went to TOTD in Philly night 1. We had front row seat right in front of Chris. He looked and sounded amazing! The entire night was a dream. I have been so sad about this news all day and can only pray for his family, PJ, SG and all of the fans around the world that he touch with his beautiful voice and music. So happy to have a place to come and grieve with others. This will hurt for a long time. Peace.
Chris Cornell will never die for me. His hard work and beautiful music is endless and will outlive all of us. May he rest easy and keep on rockin upstairs.
Most of us behave as we should. With respect, emotion, and trying to get better together. But then . . . there is always that one disrespectful person. Don't lower yourself..

That link seems to me like created nonsense, to shape a narrative from nothing.
No one who were at the show, and has commented on here, seems to talk about it being all filled with signs of doom.
And him walking across the stage and being soft/weak in his movements. Isn't that always how he's been behaving and how he plays guitar etc. Badly described but yeah.
How many shows has that writer seen with Cornell?
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
So so devastating. I was thinking earlier he did his solo tour in Europe, then that one Audioslave gig, TOTD and now Soundgarden all in the last year. I can't help but think he did this as closure, as a final goodbye, to enjoy each of these moments, times, people and music for one last time.. I don't know. Thinking for the people around him and the PJ/SG community. Thank you for the memories and music Chris, rest easy.
Friend of mine reminded me today of the time saw Audioslave at the White River Amphitheater south of Seattle (Lollapalooza 2003?). There was this guy in a wheelchair in the pit. He wanted to crowd surf to the crowd picked him up and there was this guy surfing the pit in a wheel chair. Chris took notice and was pretty astonished by what he was seeing. He got the crowd to direct the guy to the front, security covered the gap between the crowd and the stage, and he invite the guy to sit on the stage to watch the rest of the set.
It was pretty awesome too see. One of my favourite Chris Cornell memories.
As the world tries to process today's devastating news, if you are experiencing a rough time, please, please, please reach out to someone you trust.
This x1,000,000. I know it's a cliche, but it's there one silver lining to this it's the hope that it'll cause someone who needs help to reach out. One of the hardest things I'll ever have to do is reach out to get help for a mental illness, but there's not a day goes by where I'm not grateful for having done so.

Have woken worse today. Can't fathom this loss. I was 18 when kurt left us. This one hits me harder. Have Wooden Jesus blasting on the train right now. Can't focus. I miss u so much already bro
Articles appearing with comments from Chris' wife...she states that he was NOT suicidal and did not give any indications of such.
No matter how well we think we know someone, and regardless of their outward demeanor and behavior, there is a stranger behind every person's eyes. Only we truly know ourselves and what we are going through/thinking.
So sad today. Not just for the loss of someone I am a fan of but for his Wife and Kids. He must have really been hurting and his lyrics have been telling us. Rest In Peace Chris. Wish you could have found the help you needed to stay with us.

Glad I got to see him at PJ20. Never the biggest Soundgarden fan, but obviously a big loss.
