I really enjoyed this movie.Dr. Delight said:The Girl on the Train
Just watched The Thinning.
Excellent concept - a film about nations' ways of reducing a completely out of control population crisis in the not-too-distant future. America of course comes up with a very sinister and bizarre method, and this movie focuses on that and touches on the subject of political manipulation/favourtism. Unfortunately it's made in a way that is kind teeny-boppery, and focuses way too much on love interests. I wish the movie had been made in a more adult sort of way, and was darker, and little less ridiculous. Still, the concept is fascinating... it's a bit frustrating that so many dystopian future movies just don't bring the right tone (IMO). Most of them seem kind of white-washed and too polished, and don't get into the nitty gritty enough for them to even feel remotely realistic.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. I have seen "The Godfather Epic" on tv a ton but figured it was just 1 and 2 right after one another and never paid it much mind. Come to find out recently that it's 1 and 2 cut into a chronological story with young Vito coming over to start. I need to watch this.PJSiren said:Cliffy6745 said:

Ooooh, that sounds like it would be good! We don't have cable...I'll have to wait and see if they add it to Netflix or something...Cliffy6745 said:

I had my doubts about this one, but I actually enjoyed it. Good popcorn action flick.
