Looks like they scanned it and touched it up in Photoshop, then reprinted

Mario is the man. He does a lot of restoration work for the high auction houses like Heritage, and emovieposter. I have it on my wall now. Someone offered me a lot of $$$ for it, but I just couldn't ever sell it

Riley, they restored the original poster right? This response makes me think they did indeed scan the poster, retouch it and send you a copy of the original. No way I want a copy of my poster. I want the original back...even if it is not 100% perfect.

Restored. It is the original poster. John Davis at poster mountain and Mario from lumiere are the best in the business and have contracts with the major auction houses.

I had a few posters will rolls like that in it (from being framed in cheap walmart frames for far too many years).    When I took it to my local framing place, they put them in some kind of heavy metal press (that I don't think did anything by flatten them) for several days.   They looked great when framing.  Even my Gorge '05 poster that had a few creases in it from being squished by rowdy fans (before they started selling tubes at the shows) looks pretty good framed.   You can see one crease if you stare at it really hard from 6 inches away, but other then that it looks great framed.

I guess a flat press and alot of weight goes a long way to making a questionable poster look really good in a frame.

Still have like 4-5 98's that need some love - not sure if I should sell or go full on with the restoration jobs.  :grimacing:

No, it’s paper backed. He uses all archival materials and methods so it can be reversed at any time. Some thinker stock items can be gel sized, (no backing) if they aren’t missing any paper. I got this one paper backed because the borders were slightly trimmed and needed to be replaced.

Looks like the colour faded and some of the text at the bottom faded, or is that just the photo?

Just the photo, plus it is inside a plastic sleeve in the photo post restoration. I kept it in the packing because I sent it to an auction house
