What sport did you play? what year you graduate?

graduated in 2000, gallant. didn't play anything but intramural sports. i used to work at the gorsebrook, so when my roommate (he was also a bartender there..) and i graduated, they had a "retirement ceremony" (get pissed night...) and gave us each a pub uniform with our names and a number on them and hanged them behind the bar...i think there are three or four there now. i haven't been down this year to check the place out...starting to feel too old to go down there now! i don't know if they still carry on the retirement tradition or not. i'll have to stop by one of these days to see how the place has changed.

edit: the names that were there when i left were bottrill "6", ferreira "7", and rushton "8"...i was "8"
  • I'll have to check the place out sometime this weekend. You don't know Jason Terris do you?

Listened to the boot again today. Amazing. I need to find out soon about a concert happening or not, as I'm supposed to go down east in June as well. I probably can't afford to go down twice. At this point I just wanna know - period. I'm in toronto, so I will definitely see a show or two, but i want it to be in Hfx., especially after that first one that i missed. Gee, after all the rumours around here lately I thought you were going to drop some shit about PJ playing Hfx. ?! It would be as believable as anything else being slung in here.

i wouldn't drop shit about them playing in Hfx unless it was true. i may be cranky by times, but i'm not an asshole. ;) i would hate to get people's hopes up about something so incredible only to pull the carpet out from underneath them.

i've been watching the Touring Band 2000 dvd and mixed with listening to the HFX boot i've got the fever...bad!!!

Hey Lanners, if I get down for the PJ concert (assuming it happens) we'll have to hook up for a java in Halifax. It wouldn't shock me if we knew some of the same people, or at least knew OF THEM. Lets hope the boys have a soft spot for the east coast......maybe Eddie can do some surfing or something.
  • listening to state of love and trust right now...:D:D:D

    good times...
  • Just watched Touring Van and it brought back so many great memories and emotions from that day in September. I really hope to experience that again in Halifax.

    you're on!

i'm keeping my fingers crossed that i have a job and money by then, but i suppose if i don't, my brother will help me out again (have i ever mentioned how incredible my younger brother is?)

  • I'll add to the support for bringing the boys back to Halifax...

...or anywhere in Eastern Canada for that matter! I saw them during the weekend finale in my home of St. John's and it finally lay one of my lifetime dreams to rest. But when it comes to dreams, I continue to have dreams about the event and about the band specifically. A lifetime of cherished memories had been created that weekend and in some respect, I can only dream to re-create them someday.

  • It was bound to happen, and it almost happened today. While listening to the Halifax boot i was almost bored with it. Not that it isn't great, b/c it is, but I've just listened to it so many times that it gets a little tiresome. I guess I just need some other boots, or another concert in Halifax to stoke the fire again !!! Hopefully the latter.

so i don't get totally sick of it i have been limiting myself to listening to the halifax boot once a week.

i'm hoping my brother is going to hook me up with some of the other boots.

shameless bump to keep this going.

i was listening to the HFX boot today while doing the dishes and i realized that i didn't want to stop cleaning because i didn't want to stop listening to the cd.

so, i think that maybe, just maybe, with the right promotions, Pearl Jam could be marketed as a cleaning aid! my kitchen has never looked better, man!

Funny stuff. Maybe if Eddie keeps losing his hair he could pass as Mr. Clean.
