These goalies need to keep their heads and and the team needs to play the hot hand. I'd give the nod to Neuvy right now

Bad night all around but real bad for Provorov.
I wonder if he gets sent back down before his 9 game stint runs out up here.
I fully expect this team to fight for a 7/8 seed at best but this was bad.
They fought back for 4 goals to tie it but rough.

i only caught the last half of the 3rd period. Defense and goaltending look suspect

BTW, Streit is awful. Neuvirth played like crap.
Good news is Schenn is back next game. Slots everyone else properly in the lineup. They missed his physical presence big time and on the PP.
When Matt Read is your best forward over the last two games, you're in trouble.

Ugly Home opener. Zero jump, especially after that opening ceremony for Mr. Snider. I dont get it.
This team year after year cannot get off to good starts in games and to the season.
Let me add, there is zero physicality to this team. They dont hit. Very concerning.

it might help if their supposed two best forwards could score a goal. giroux and voracek are a combined -7 in 4 games with zero goals.

Havent even noticed this guy much to be honest.

Flyers winger Dale Weise was suspended for three games by the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Friday for Thursday's shoulder-to-the-head hit on Anaheim's Korbinian Holzer.

    Matt Read, the sniper.
Shaky start but got the win. Nice bounce back by Provorov, prob helped him playing with Manning. Mark Streit has been awful this year. Looks slow and old. I hope he or Schultz is pushed out when both Gudas and Del Zotto finally return.
Let's see the Captain score a goal now.

Heck of a 3rd period comeback last night.
Mason clearly playing better than Neuvirth so far this season.
Congrats to TK11 on his first pro goal.

That hit on Voracek lit a fire under the team. They still need to come out playing much better and be a lot more physical then they are.

Damn, he looks like he is 14. (I know...not far from it!) Hard to imagine being out there at such a young age.

yes he does but he has game. very impressed with Konecny so far. Provorov has been a bit more rookie-ish but nice to see Hakstol still giving him a ton of minutes. interesting they were on the ice together in the 3-on-3 OT last night.

I sitll want Giroux to score but his pass to Schenn on the 2nd goal last night on the power play was fantastic. Claude is great on the power play but 5 on 5....

This team frustrates the hell out of me. They cannot start a game or get an early lead for the life of them.
Two losses this year to the Coyotes. And the officiating in this league is a joke.

    This f'n team.
Last year: couldnt score but goaltending was great.
This year: scoring but the goaltending stinks and the defense is a hot mess.
Never ends. Something has to change in the core group on this team.

no it doesn't. the talent is there this year. just need to figure out the right mix of aggressive offense and good D. tighten it up and be more solid is what they need. they will come around.

They dont need to figure out good D, they need good D-men. And a goalie who can stop the puck and not a back-breaking soft goal almost every game.
This group has been together for awhile now. Bubble playoff team. Coaches have come and gone.
Mason and Neuvirth are not getting it done this season and when they did last year, no one else helped.

Ridiculous schedule the Flyers have had so far, several back to back games already.
Tonight they get the Canadians, fresh off a 10-0 loss to Columbus. Montoya was in net for all ten goals against.
They live and die with Price, tonight will be a much different game.

I think they're ripe for the picking, actually. That loss against CBJ (ok, maybe not a 10-0 loss) was in the cards for a few games now. Habbies getting more and more like their old selves. Was fun while it lasted!

Montreals a good team, plenty of talent...

Except 3 things about Montreal I do not like, their coach, leaving a goalie in for 10 goals is total bush league, I do not like Markov and I would have shipped him off and went with the 18 year old defensman from Windsor and took my chances, and their Captain...trade him.

Philadelphia played well tonight, good game, any other goalie in net and Philadelphia wins...

and to think a portion of the fan base and media didn't like this guy. he was a stud. best i've ever seen in the orange and black. too bad Clarkie thought goaltending wasn't important and didn't like McCrimmon asking for a new contract.
